The more you post, the easier the captcha gets, and if you've been posting on the same cookie ID for a few days then you're considered a regular user so you get the piss easy captchas.
I haven't cleared cookies in two months and I don't get the easy ones. In fact I'm on the same boat as @GotFriedBy, I get "verification not required" in every attempt but it won't let me post. Apparently an issue with 4chanX/XT.

The current "good boy" captcha looks like this:

No anti-OCR squiggles, just some numbers you can type out with a numpad.

As usual, RapeApe is trying to make it as miserable for fresh posters to start posting just to deter 'ecker autosolvers, while trying to make it easier for regular "verified" users. The more you post, the easier the captcha gets, and if you've been posting on the same cookie ID for a few days then you're considered a regular user so you get the piss easy captchas. You could say it "rewards" you for gritting your teeth and pushing on posting with the shitty starter captchas that are only there because the FBI is somehow even more incompetent than RapeApe.
I take it he would have done away with the captcha for verified users but he already gave that feature to paying customers and it would look bad to give non-paying users a captcha-free experience. Either way, a little bit of good will goes a long way.

So far this captcha seems way more fast and easy than the previous one. I’m curious how this will affect the people trying to bypass it.

Yinglet-troons. I don't feel so good...

I can't remember which board this shitty webcomic was spammed on but this is literally everyone who reads it. Justice.

Tbh, spambots and leto/ecker already figured out how to bypass captchas with ease no matter what they did. Even the captcha with the dots above letters was solved by the ecker. 4chan is banking now on restricting new sessions' posting permissions (can't make new threads or upload files until the cookie is old enough) to deter spam.
These schizos tend to use several devices to circumvent bans, this is less than useless. I swear, jannies are complete retards that have somehow gotten even more incompetent since the hack.

Hiro installed a new terrible captcha system. I guess the 4chan passes aren't selling so good.
The duality of man. Honestly though it's not that bad. It's either look for numbers among letters or choose the one shape that doesn't have a pair. It's way better than the system they were using before that kept returning errors for me.

Games didn't even exist until the 1980s so that would make no games retro
Space Invaders came out in 1978. Lunar Lander came out as an arcade game in 1979, but there were ten years of various versions of it starting in 1969, although the general public wouldn't have seen them. The original Pong arcade game came out in 1972.

I mean there's not really much to talk about regarding them, but they have existed in some form or another since 1958 (a Ponglike game that wasn't even a computer game but used an oscilloscope).

also the captcha did literally nothing to stop leto, cracked within 2 hours and was gloating on basically all the big generals, and on /g/ and of course, spamming 'p

They can easily get rid of all of the spam by locking all boards except for /b/ and /pol/ behind a secret password and/or invite codes and turn the locked areas of 4chan into a high trust society that operates like a pseudo private tracker.

This cleans up the filth from third worlders, enforces a technological filter (Goodbye, phoneposters) and makes it significantly more difficult for letobots to vomit all over the site.

These are just a few of my ideas.

Which will do nothing because aging IPs is trivial. Ecker already bans people who burn through too many of his IP addresses posting stupid shit.

This isn't how the new captcha works. This is what older cookies are getting until they inevitably age and have to put up with the new system.

It’s weird to see RapeApe become the spokesperson for 4chan after years of speculation about his role and the lack of communication from the site’s administration.

Does Nishimura just not care anymore?
Hiroshimoot realized 4chan was never going to be lucrative and profitable like his dumbass thought it would be. The only reason he hasn't pawned it off on someone else is probably because he doesn't have to pay staff (they do it for free) and can rake in some passive income from pass sales and whatever malware injected ads he replaced J-List with.
