There are threads not big enough to survive the posting frequency of generals like the cripple girl fucker general #3456094. So they're in this awkward spot of wanting to bundle something like puzzle games, but also not having to go to /vg/ in which the thread just dies.
A thread on /v/ without a bump lasts for 25~50
MINUTES before falling off page 10, the variable minutes being based off of the timezone (less time during peak NA times, more time during general-to-peak EU times).
A thread on /vg/ without a bump lasts for 4~5
HOURS all around before falling off page 10, outside of horrible events such as multiple gacha games getting big updates at the same time, at which point it might fall to 3 hours at worst.
People on /v/ just generally don't want to leave for /vg/ for three reasons:
A) It's more chaotic, has board culture rather than thread culture and is less streamlined/contained, chaos can be fun.
B) Homeboard, similar to how /vg/ has an issue where people squat down in a general and start discussing their life and interests instead of the game, but for an entire board.
C) Being afraid of a board because of something you read and blindly believed without confirming it yourself, and are now avoiding it for such a reason.
