From what I can tell, for a few months now, they've been spamming threads on /v/ and so jannies and mods started deleting their posts.
Of course being gacha addicts, they're claiming it's unfair there's no place to discuss their games without /vg/ nonsense. So they've been creating "stealth" threads instead.

Actually I have seen a few people in those threads discuss going to /vmg/, but it's always some /v/ addict saying they shouldn't kotow to the rules and keep spamming.

I understand why they didnt want to ban retro games off of /v/ when /vr/ was made, as that made people afraid. But /vr/ wasn't meant as a containment board, it was meant to give retro gaming a chance. Gachashit, however, is something you have to contain, and I have no idea why /vmg/ isn't enforced for all mobile games.

IIRC J-List didn't initiate that break up, Hiro did. I vaguely remember someone on 4chan emailing them about it and they said they were sad to see the partnership end especially since Hiro didn't even give them a reason for it. Then /g/ immediately figured out the first wave of new ads had malware embedded in them.

/pol/ still has spammed slide threads, but I will admit some of the post quality seems to have somewhat increased since the new captcha. It doesn't stop bots, but it does stop mouth breathing retards that can't pass the simplest of IQ tests. Then again, using that shithole is arguably failing an IQ test too. Still not nearly as bad as /v/ though. /v/ is just ads. /a/ is getting that way too. /mu/ is a dead board with nothing but spam.
 
Literally no reason to use 4chan anymore. You'll find the same edgy teen hatred on most any subreddit or fucking /2 chat in WoW.

It truly just is nostalgia and addiction at this point. Then again, people are still using twitter now that it's 80% paid ads and porn bots.

Out of curiosity, is there any data on whether or not the new captchas are affecting 4chan's traffic? I haven't noticed a difference, myself.
