They haven't.Out of curiosity, is there any data on whether or not the new captchas are affecting 4chan's traffic? I haven't noticed a difference, myself.

Lmao was literally just talking about this on /tg/ with some of the remaining sensible folk there and brought this up.View attachment 8481585
I always felt like /tg/ was in a downward spiral thanks to the terrible mod team there. Glad to know I wasn't alone.
interesting /b/ kept a steady 3k while most other boards lost about 10%. also seems most people kept coming after the hack, and the 10% bled out over the course of a year. They haven't.
Splitting /qst/ into its own board was a huge mistake. It caused the most creative users to leave /tg/ and left trolls and trannies behind to inherit the board.Lmao was literally just talking about this on /tg/ with some of the remaining sensible folk there and brought this up.
It's fucking sad how unsuable that board has become because of all the bots, retards, grogs, and the mods who are actively conditioning the board into an edgier version of Reddit where if you dont tow the party line in being the biggest faggot possible, you get your posts deleted.
The only board I have seen take a bigger nosedive is /sp/. Which is sad, because that used to be one of the last big holdouts for board culture and general silliness.
2016 really fucked that website, and I feel 2020 + The Leakening pissed on its rotted corpse.
/tg/ is now just shill threads, spam and reddit brigades from places like saltierthankrait and sigmarxism. I literally got a 3 day ban for calling someone who kept spamming his shitty minis in a thread retarded, and most of the warhammer threads have now been hijacked into kulture war slop anyway.Lmao was literally just talking about this on /tg/ with some of the remaining sensible folk there and brought this up.

It appears that most of the gooner boards have been steadily coming back to be fair.interesting /b/ kept a steady 3k while most other boards lost about 10%. also seems most people kept coming after the hack, and the 10% bled out over the course of a year.
"Upload failed" means they have that image hash blacklisted. I've seen it happen often with images downloaded from KF, amusingly. Changing the hash is enough to bypass it. "This IP has been rangebanned" is a fake message for new cookie sessions to prevent "spam" (it doesn't) that goes away after a day or two.Just tried to make an honest-to-God post over in /lit/. 300 second wait time, okay. 4-step IQ test capcha, okay. Upload failed for no given reason... okay. Another 4-step IQ test capcha, okay. "This IP has been rangebanned." Amazing stuff.
How anyone still uses the site is beyond me.
I disagree, 4chan still shines when there is an event where anons can all watch and shitpost in a thread together, whether that's a speedrun marathon, a sporting event, or a major happening, the old 4chan flares to life for a while.Literally no reason to use 4chan anymore.
The saddest part is the rise of faggot ass hustle culture and the monetization of hobbies have devastated whatever oral tradition remained among /tg/ space. They were reliant on users to tell stories and make up little games to keep the board interesting.
4chan , has become a spectacle. Turkeytom , internethistorian.. list goes on and on and on people make performative content about greentext for fucking retarded teens on a site long deadThe saddest part is the rise of faggot ass hustle culture and the monetization of hobbies have devastated whatever oral tradition remained among /tg/ space.
30 seconds on TTRPG Youtube and youll be bombarded with insufferable culture vultures who shamelessly screenshot and narrate over 4chan /tg/ stories and use it as a revenue stream. Particularly easy via 4chan because it's anonymous, because they know well that similar behavior on a site like Reddit would blow up within a week because someone would go "Hey this cocksucker is shamelessly using my post for content."
We get the exact same shit here on KF with Kiwitubers, yet somehow the TTRPG content farms are even more blatant.
Go try and make a thread on /tg/ right now asking about people to share their stories. Within 4-5 posts you will get hit with some flavor of "Fuck off content farmer."
This has basically resulted in whatever decent people were left on the board becoming unbelievably weary and insular, if not outright hostile. Because now not only do we have to suffer retards, bots, and grognards, theres the perpetual distrust that any lighthearted discussion or storytelling is some normie faggot milking you for content and your story is going to become a Youtube Short someone else is profiting off of. And not even doing a funny voice or animation to be transformative or creative. No just straight up reading posts while they stand in front of a bookshelf with nerdy knicknacks behind them.
I understand that that aspect of the issue isn't exclusively 4chans fault, and a complaint of 2020s society in general, but holy shit it's bad.
4chans always been stolen from and passed around. Ive been seeing the Sir Bearington story for over 15 years now. But something about it lining someone elses pockets has bred some real fucking hostility in a hobby that relies on oral tradition.
I'm going to modify and walk back this statement a bit. It's not brown people accusing other brown people of being brown, it's ESL thirdies accusing other ESL thirdies of being ESL thirdies. Probably the majority of brown people accused of being brown aren't actually brown, but they're being accused by someone who's not on top of the status totem pole.Like 70% of the discourse on 4chan these days is brown people accusing other brown people of being brown.
this, 4chan is basically a tranny-controlled Banana Republic with retarded teenagers trying too hard to be funny, anyone who was posting in the 2010s have mostly left, and anyone who posted in the 2000s almost certainly does not post anymore, you could probably have more entertainment value reading the schizo vietnamese 13 year olds posting on the Sharty then most of the boards on 4chan, dont even get me started on /vg/4chan , has become a spectacle. Turkeytom , internethistorian.. list goes on and on and on people make performative content about greentext for fucking retarded teens on a site long dead
I've seen a lot of this on /vp/, where there's an anon called Chappyfag who checks to see if the OP images of various threads are Eeveelutions, and if they are, he posts corresponding Eeveelution art by an artist called Chappy, followed by spamming a lot more fanart by various artists, like so:The biggest impact India has had on the internet or at least my corner of the internet, is not them ruining search engines, social media, free browser games, and content algorithms. It's them completely mindbreaking anyone with an inferiority complex about their status in life, ESPECIALLY Europeans. People just make shit up now and project it onto imaginary Indians as a desperate attempt to make them feel better about themselves and separate themselves from the unwashed thirdie masses. It doesn't matter how inconsequential and ridiculous and bizarre it is if some anon is doing it or believes it and another poster disagrees with it, then that anon is an Indian and all Indians think or do the same thing. It's pervasive on every single board and it's completely ruined all discourse.
Turd worlders (especially Indians) absolutely *are* everywhere online nowadays and they absolutely do ruin routine everyday discussions on the Internet. You can't escape from this anywhere. The effect on 4chan has been extremely noticeable: about a third of everything I see on 4chan nowadays looks like it was written by an ESL retard who can't parse together a coherent sentence. And even if they could manage English, their thoughts are more worthless than garbage. A markov chain is more intelligent than the average turd world poster. The biggest impact India has had on the internet or at least my corner of the internet, is not them ruining search engines, social media, free browser games, and content algorithms. For a long time a lot of threads on /pol/ seemed to be farming for chatbot training material, e.g., the daily repeated ones about "inner monologue" and visualizing apples. They turned almost everybody against actual discussion. (Success!)Go try and make a thread on /tg/ right now asking about people to share their stories. Modern /pol/ really shows how fragile the infrastructure of an anonymous image board can be. It's basically been raided by bad actors for years whose end goal was to make the board unreadable, and they've succeeded. I'm fairly certain there's so few genuine interactions on the board anymore to the point that it's just board saboteurs talking to each other now.For a long time a lot of threads on /pol/ seemed to be farming for chatbot training material, e.g., the daily repeated ones about "inner monologue" and visualizing apples. Each board has a similar story.
Man, if only there was some sort of IP count or IP ID so that you could tell who's sliding.Modern /pol/ really shows how fragile the infrastructure of an anonymous image board can be. I'm not disputing it's not mostly ESLs now, but I think its mostly butthurt belt Youreapeeins and different flavors of spics and they're the ones derailing every thread by going "SAR DO NOT REDEEM" any time someone might post a typo or say something they disagree with because they have to establish themselves higher up the subhuman pecking order. Even the Sharty leaks said there weren't a whole lot of Indians and the ones that exist are probably mostly 50 centers posting on places like /pol/ and /k/ and going >SIRS WHAT IS THE SOURCE in /gif/ threads. I don't think Dikshit Poodam from Uttar Pradesh is the one who's ruined fun quality discussion on the special-interest blue boards.Turd worlders (especially Indians) absolutely *are* everywhere online nowadays and they absolutely do ruin routine everyday discussions on the Internet. If you dispute this, it's because you're either too young to remember what things were like before, or because you are a turd worlder yourself, so it feels like business as usual for you.
