It isn't really hated much more than anything else is hated. They hate everything, at least the few real channers who are left. I've noticed a lot of the first replies to these threads are people insulting the OP for even posting about the Farms at all. It's not that those people LIKE the Farms but they just don't CARE and can recognize a PA request.

Some people cite the habbo hotel raids or Chanology as the greatest thing 4chan ever did but personally I think the peak of 4chan was the Zimmerman trial on /pol/ in 2013. Some of the funniest trolling ever done in the history of the site and it's just not talked about like other trolling like HWNDU or habbo. If you were there you know.

There was some other spaz on diy that was making a lovebot. His was great because the face he was molding was done so poorly it was like a horror film. Not sure if he was trolling cause it was like he was trying to fuck it up. He was going through a divorce and he did seem sort of retarded.
 
Are coomer/gooner/cumbrain related at all? I think I saw cumbrain first, maybe around 2017/2018. People started posting it in the sfw board porn threads. Then it was filtered to something I think (can't remember what) and people switched to coombrain and coomer. I always assumed that coombrain was a different spelling of cumbrain to get around the filter and got slapped onto the boomer/zoomer/oomer shit that was popping up. My brief online research says that they were both posted online years before that, but that doesn't mean that the people popularizing it had ever seen those previous posts. Gooner appears to be the most popular now and seems the most likely to be completely unrelated. Maybe it has something to do with SA, it took me a long time to realize that troon is apparently contraction of tr(anny g)oon.
 
Cumbrain was filtered to "gamer" because the mods were upset than 24/7 porn dump and erp threads were being disrupted on blue boards.
Coomer is just another of the -oomer garbage but I do remember it showing up when cumbrain was filtered. There was a big spam campaign at the time as a pushback against the porn spam.
Gooning, gooner, gooncave was in reference to a specific way of extreme jorking. Not related to the prior terms as this was more specific. Cumbrain/coomer was used to describe porn/sex addicts in general. Gooning is now so overused it has lost the original meaning. Now it's more likely to be used to describe masturbation in general or anyone that says or does anything sexual.

coomer was just the latest -oomer variation. the -oomer variations are derived from the >30 year old boomer meme which was another forced meme. See this picture:

Coomer/cumbrain was a discord op if I recall correctly, same one that tried forcing in the coomer wojak variant. I don't know who popularized gooning as a concept, maybe Goonclown and his infamous 2023 doxxing.
