Yeah, which is kind of just 4chan humor in general now. Throw in a bunch of recognizable caricatures and instant lulz I guess.
I dunno, the whole soyboy meme isn't funny to me anymore. Sure popculture junkie geeks are annoying and weird but it feels like 4chan isn't as clever as it used to be. I don't know if it's always been shit and I've outgrown it or if Current Year really has caused an objective drop in quality.

The meme is really only funny when it's subtle or plays off of the stereotype in a clever way. It's like ethnic humor: Dave Chappelle and the Boondocks are hilarious, but you can't just say "nigger nigger nigger nigger" without it quickly becoming tiring. You have a limited number of times you can just go for the shock value before it wears out, and "lmao soyboys are cucks" has reached that point.

The issue is that they shove too many over the top stereotypes. If they would have just had him see Captain Marvel to get his wife to have sex with and maybe keep the switch art it would have been funny.

I don't know, Reddit's been full of 'I went to see Captain Marvel last night with the wifey and her boyfriend' posts recently. Of course, that's just Reddit being Reddit.

Personally I think it would've been way funnier if told from a woman's PoV as her husband drags her to see a superhero movie she doesn't give a shit about while talking about how he's a great feminist. Then it ends with him meekly asking for a blowie because he empowered her and she's just completely lost.
The soyboy meme would be a lot better if it implied real women actually don't like it when their boyfriends act like pathetic manbabies.

Yeah, most 4chan shitposting about the issue has a subtext of "fucking roasties emasculating men, all these guys are betabux because she's fucking CHAD, REEEEE"
I was banned off of 4chan on my second day for posting in DIY on how to make Mississippi windchimes so I didnt get to really see much of it and never went back.
Hi KF,
I want to tell you a story. It’s a story about autism, DMCAs, pedos, and Minecraft; It’s the story of 4Craft. Most of you probably don’t know what 4Craft is. In essence: it’s a large Minecraft factions game with each board of 4Chan. For a few weeks, each board advertises on their respective board, gets a base of players, and when the time comes, they all fight in a wonderfully autistic game. If you search 4Craft on Youtube, you can probably get a few videos of the more notable raids. However, I’m not here to tell you about the event. Rather, I’m here to tell you about the last two iterations of 4Craft, the drama that surrounded them, and why the last one, and probably this one, will fail.
Last year, 4Craft was run by a guy by the name of Coty. The time before the server actually launched went well for the most part: people shilled their boards, got large followings, and started brainstorming strategies. However, when it actually came time to launch the server, shit hit the fan beautifully. Coty had claimed that he’d spent days configuring and setting up the server, however, many people from /g/, 4Chan’s technology board, speculated that he’d spent less than two days actually setting up the event. This was reflected in the choice of plugins used for anti-cheat, the amount of lag on the server, and the general lack of preparedness that it showed. For the next week or so, Coty was on damage control; he needed to clean up and optimize the server as much as possible. Inevitably, most of the players left sometime during the first week, most of them annoyed at the mismanagement of the server. I was one of these people. I don’t know exactly what state the server was in when it eventually died, but I do know that most people weren’t happy with the state of it.
This previous paragraph was more of a gloss-over of the details, but I want to tell some short little stories within 4Craft. One of which pertains to the anti-cheat that this version was using. As you can image, you can sort Minecraft players from 4Chan into two groups: The kinds of people who will pay for cheats, make their own, or download a shitty free one, or the kinds that haven’t launched the game in five years. Coty had thought that something needed to be done, and as a result, he implemented several anti cheat addons into the server. One of these was a terrible anti-xray addon. If you’re unfamiliar with how these work, (and I can’t blame you if you are), they replace blocks in unrendered areas with things that would normally be opaque in an xray texture pack, such as TNT, cobblestone, mossy cobble, metal blocks, etc. While this is a pretty good idea in theory, it actually made the server slow to a crawl. It would take several seconds for interacting with the world to register.
Another wonderful story deals with /a/. Despite the frankly autistic measures that Coty went to in order to prevent cheaters, there were still plenty of cheats that were just impossible to patch out. One of which was kill aura, which as the name implies, kills anything in range. Many of the users in /a/ abused the hell out of this, making most users leave the game. Allegedly, one of the leaders of /a/ was friendly with Coty, so they were able to get away with abusing cheats for longer. However, this didn’t last forever, and /a/ was disqualified as a result of the cheating. In resposne to this, many players who were on /a/ joined boards such as /d/ and /mlp/ (don’t ask me why they joined the horsefuckers, I couldn’t tell you). It’s also worth mentioning that Reiko, the /r9gay/ fucker was in /a/, and was actually one of the most rampant cheaters.
Yet another problem that occurred on the server involved /mlp/. Being the degenerate shits they are, they decided to build a lag machine. In short: a lag machine uses dispensers and redstone to drop water and lava, creating a huge cobblestone pyramid. Every other block would be hollow, which led to users rendering much more than their computers could handle. I believe that they got disqualified for this, but I can’t recall. It was also said that /a/ was involved in the creation of the machine, but some rumors said that mlp was planning to make one for a long time.
Fast forward a year and change, and some members of /g/ decide to try and revive 4craft. Their aliases were Sparrow, Kylos, Nathan, DeadVCR, and KeckleKnight. The five of them created a 4craft server, and within three days, accumulated around 800 members. They marketed themselves as “4Craft but competent,” playing off of the anger of the mismanagement of last year’s 4Craft. Their original promise was to launch on Sunday, March 10th, but as I’ll explain later, this got pushed back. This time, instead of the discord server running relatively smoothly, it turned into an autistic dumpster fire.
One of the ways they tried to improve the server involved cheats. Instead of finding anti-cheat software worth its salt, or just making their own, they decided to allow what they called “passive” cheats, and disallow “active” cheats. The line between passive and active was pretty blurry, but most of them seemed to agree on what cheats would and would not be allowed. Things such as kill aura, aimbot, fly hacks, etc were considered “active” and things such as x-ray, soft fall, etc were considered “passive”. Some users were torn on this: it gave people that knew how to break the game the ability to do so, while gimping the people who haven’t launched it for years. However, for the most part, people were okay with it.
One of the spergfests that happened in connection to this year’s 4Craft involved the map. Originally, it was going to use last year’s map. However, the creator MonkeysInSpace became extremely defensive over it. He even threatened to DMCA the server’s owner, DeadVCR, with his neetbucks if he used the map. In the end Dead decided that it was more trouble than it was worth to use the last version of the map, and instead, opted to let the leader of the /diy/ board make the map. He also said that as a result, the launch date would actually be on Tuesday, and told his members to blame Monkeys for the delay. The /diy/ leader was actually a pretty nice guy, so I’m going to leave his name out of this. I’ll call him James if I need to refer to him again.
One of the nuclear shitshows that happened involved the server getting fucking deleted. You heard that right folks, the entire server was deleted. You may be asking, “Who deleted it? Was the owner’s account hacked? Did a bot nuke it?” and if you asked any of those, you’re wrong. Discord deleted it. Shortly after the server as nuked, a new one was made, and many of the people who were in the previous server managed to make their ways back. Originally, the staff said that the owner’s account, which was actually an alternate one, got hacked. This was later revealed to be false, and the truth came to light: Discord deleted it due to mass cp reports. See, the old server had both a shitpost channel and a nsfw channel, both of which were allegedly unmoderated by the staff. I had only gone into them once, and if that’s true, I can’t blame them. There was plenty of disgusting fetish material in the nsfw channel. One half of me is kicking myself for not saving some to show you fucks, the other is glad that I didn’t linger there long enough to consider suicide. At any rate, there were allegations of CP in the server, Discord apparently agreed with them, and nuked it.
The final story of shit I have for you guys occurred a few days ago. One of the staff, Nathan, inexplicably lost his staff role. He said that he’d given up with "dealing with 4Chan’s shit", and wanted out. After getting pinged a few hundred times, he left the server for good. Many users alleged that he’d been demoted, and asked him what he fucked up. After this, KeckleKnight lost his rank as well. I PMed him, asking why, and he said that DeadVCR has seized control of the server. He was giving staff roles to people that Keckle saw as unfit, and these new staff were revoking legitimate bans. When he tried to stop these people from revoking the bans, he was kicked off the staff team. I left the server after this, as I saw that it was also going to be a disappointment.
Some footnotes that I don’t feel deserve a paragraph:
-4Craft 2019 launched a patreon. They had asked for money due to server costs, but of course, they were reeeeee’d down, and eventually they stopped asking for money. The patreon isn’t down, however.
-Some of the staff alleged that people were trying to dox them. After doing some digging, I found that the “master hackers” were pretty retarded. For the tech-illiterate, he's looking at the manual for forensics software in those pictures. He's also talking about "rar metadata". I especially like how one person in the discord calls him out on his stupidity.
-Reiko is in this version of 4Craft, too. He made a comment about the doxing.
I’ll update this post if I find/recall anything worthwhile.
I'm sorry I didn't get very many screencaps of the shitshow as it was transpiring, I didn't think it'd go this far downhill.
