/x/ today is filled to the brim with the exact same evangelical r/the_donald refugees who inundated /pol/ after the 2016 election and then brigaded every other board to make them into knockoff of /pol/ so now christian fundies and new age hippie assholes are shitting up every single thread and derailing every discussion in the first few posts, 4chan 2020 is basically any boomer facebook or whatsapp group, no fun allowed.

If you think that's who's posting on /x/ you've spent very little time on either board. The main shitposters on /x/ are druggos addicted to various mind-altering substances who believe that their hallucinations represent an alternative reality. That's been the same for over a decade, but they're just more burnt out now. Christian stuff is pretty low-grade and usually Gnostic.

These days a quarter of the threads read like they should be on Erowid.

Not only that, but any time someone even tries to bring up the rapture, it's usually mocked or disregarded for the Alyums. There's also been an uptick on both Mandela Effect and Flat Earth threads the last few times I've been on it.

I mean sure @LinkinParkxNaruto[AMV], there might have been a shitload of Christfags on 4chan a few years ago, but nowadays they're routinely mocked and ostracized much like the users who keep unironically believing in Q, and the only threads I see on /pol/ regarding religion are either those that bash the jews or Christians, or them actually trying to get into a proper discussion about the themes of the Bible and whether or not they're real (the threads on /x/ are far more limited and next to non-existant from the last few times I've been there beyond a couple of threads mocking people trying to set dates for Jesus's return). Back in 2017/18, I'd be more than inclined to believe you on the "Jesus will return!" nutters fucking up the place, but they've all but vanished soon after. At least, from what I've seen.

It was only a matter of time. The PS2 is older than most of the posters on VR.

I dont know about vr ever being comfy. Its been full of autistic CRT and physical collection vs emulation threads for a while, everything else gets no replies. The only thing of value is the boomer shooter thread.

allowing the 6th gen is the only interesting thing that could have happen to the board. /vr/ is such a narrow board which such an arbitrary mindset that is very easy to low effort bait and most of the times those trite threads are the entire content of the catalogue because it is also slow in traffic. Anyone can just open another thread with Chronno Trigger cover and "why is this game so shit?" and its probably the top commented thread of the week.

Its also full of hipsters so its extremely predictable. Some time ago i was bored and opened a couple threads the same week just to test it out, one was "Dragon quest III is way better than FF7 or 6" or something like that, and other was "Lets face it, Mistical Ninja Starring Goemon was way better than Mario 64, i don't know why more people don't realize it".
Predictably both times hipster fags came out to agreed with me and insult normies for not realizing how wrong they are. I never played Dragon Quest III , dont even like DQ, and i don't give a shit about Goemon btw, i just knew it was going to trigger autistic flaps because DQ is older than FF7, therefore better in /vr/ logic and Goemon is not well known in the west compared to the Mario franchise, therefore better in /vr/ logic. I gave zero arguments and it was enough to fuel some tirades.

If i ever return to the board it would be only because theres some PS2 or GC game i am emulating and want to talk about it.

I remember I used to check on the Game Center CX general, and it was mostly dead.
Oh, and people were sperging about considering the dreamcast retro. I looked at that and thought "really? it's a fucking Sega console, of course it's retro" - it seemed like a significant part of the /vr/ community couldn't accept that what they liked when they were young would eventually become retro.
