It appears there's no thread on this , and I promise, I have looked *everywhere* else. Is m00t alive? He has literally no digital presence in English post-2016, unless he has changed his name or scrubbed the internet. Supposedly he works for Google but that story seems doubtful to me unless he's just collecting a check.

I saw some pictures of him in Tokyo with some chick. There's an occasional thread on him on /qa/

Was it this thread that had the screencap of 4chan breaking down why otome (weeb visual novel games for girls) work? Ran across it the other day and can't find it now.

4chan's thematic boards are in strange condition. Some are too broad (/g/, for example; "technology" can refer to anything from microwaves to JS frameworks), others are too narrow (all the /v/ spinoffs, maybe /po/, /m/ and other smaller boards). In my opinion, it shoud be smoothed out somehow. /vn/ would be nice albeit slow, separate board for manga (possibly with light novels) might also be a positive change. And a dedicated programming board is a lifelong dream of mine.
The older boards like /po/, /m/, etc. are basically 2ch imports back when 4chan wanted to be the English version of chan culture. They were around since basically the start and they developed their own culture over the years, like how /m/ is basically the go-to place for discussing toku shit like Kamen Rider or pretty much any old-ass Japanese science fiction like Legend of Galactic Heroes and not just mecha.

The new /v/ spinoffs are just pointless. Like VTubers I could see since it's a huge fad and since Hololive has their English VTubers (and there's all these stupid weeb knockoffs of that) it doesn't really belong on /jp/ but why do RPGs and Strategy and Multiplayer games need their own spinoff board?

Maybe we could blame /mlp/ as precedent for this since it got split from /co/ as a containment board for the brony cancer.

Yeah he did work for Google, don't know if he still does. It would make sense for him to disappear, current year is a very dangerous climate for a person like him. I shot a message to his old Tumblr address, we'll see if he replies.

They should have just told them to calm the fuck down and cope. Lee Goldson the Barneyfag is only unusual because he's still doing that shit all of /co/ was doing back then. Also it wasn't the first such containment board. The first was /vp/ for Pokemon in, I think, 2010 or so.

I heard Barneyfag is just A-Logging over the creator of Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss now but honestly I wish 4chan just made the e-celeb board since so many boards have e-celeb discussion, mainly /tv/, /v/, and /co/

He'd almost certainly consider it Barneyshit considering the MLP fandom-related people involved in it.

That's funny because my inner voice switches between English and my native language. I can have an entire monologue in English, even adding my accent and my grammatical errors to my thought process.
I don't know where anon got that from.

There is now a VTuber board, /vt/. I'm told /jp/'s activity has already declined by like 50%. Are new board Fridays back?
And yet we still don't have /phi/ - Philosophy & Religion. It would dramatically improve both /x/ and /lit/ (especially /x/).
With all the vidya spin off boards and now a vtuber board, there truly is no excuse for not having a kpop board
This would be a good thing even though it would be unrelenting cancer. It's a rare day that /mu/ doesn't have three K-pop threads active with 300+ replies (not even counting the ones playing catch up).

All Vtubers are knockoffs of Annoying Orange.

I always doubt things like this, since Conrad and Nabokov wrote in English far more fluently than most native writers ever could.
I've contemplated this factoid to some degree. It isn't necessarily incompatible with reality, though. It is possible that the unique prose styles of writers like Conrad are literally because they were forced to consider every possible word and thus, being actual artists, it is the complete self-awareness they possessed that enabled them to construct sentences in a language foreign to them as if they were works of art rather than pure communication.

Of course, it's also possible rules apply differently to geniuses.

Maybe I don't know as much about 4chan, but it seems like the kind of site that serves as the internet's equivalent of chaos; people post whatever the heck they want with no restrictions whatsoever. Even 4channel has some pretty dirty stuff.

Like idk. Maybe some people like it, and I respect that. But for me, this seems like a very untidy place.

If only this were true, mods and jannies have been trash for years now and just delete whatever they feel like.

This. Mods are fags and Jannies do it for free! I got a warning once for saying "chinks" in a post.
