Oh damn, now Pollo is the one in trouble.

You know, we didn't get to even know Pollo that much. Chris got him during the final portions of the "Dry Spell" and so not a lot of photos came out of him. Then when Sorbet came out, Sorbet became the Cat center of attention of CWCville.

And the ancient Lucy continues to be the oldest surviving cat at 14BLC.

I expect Barb to get like three kittens all at once to fill her crazy cat lady void.

I really hope they don't get more pets. Mostly because I don't think, for one reason or another, Chris will be at 14BLC for too many more years. Whatever his next living situation, pets might not be allowed.

It may be that Sorbet was found by/escaped to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, considering it's like two blocks from Chris' house, and it's likely he got Sorbet from there.

Or the cat simply wandered off like thousands of other cats every year.

Chris' day-to-day life isn't the cartoon world you think it is, it's actually quite mundane.

While I agree the cat probably wandered off, I do believe Chris's day to day is a little more fanciful than the rest of ours. Primarily being he's not quite there and it's all in his head. I mean, the guy's married to cartoon characters. How much more cartoonish does his life have to be?

I know its terrible to lose a pet, but I think sorbet would have a better life somewhere less horded.
Also Chris will not have to buy catfood and catlitter anymore which can be a great save on money.

I get the culture of letting cats wander and that it can be normal for a cat to disappear for a week or more and come back fine but if he doesn't have a history of doing that and also has a history of being hit by a car, plus poor vision it doesn't bode well. I hope the little guy is okay and was picked up by a shelter and rehomed but it doesn't seem too likely.

I only let cats outside if I've adopted them after they've been outdoor cats and grown to maturity that way. If you don't let them outside, they're miserable and they're constantly trying to escape anyway. You can't really wean them of this. Trying to keep them entirely indoors is cat prison to them.

I always keep cats who grew up indoors inside, though. They don't know what outside is like and if they even escape accidentally, they often turn into splat cats when they get run over or run into a predator. My current cat was the kitten of an urban feral cat and was fairly traumatized early in life. I'm not sure exactly what but you could tell he was terrified of everything. He immediately appreciated being inside and has literally never even attempted to go outside. He knows it's better in here.

I think there's not much more that can be said in this thread. There's already 15 pages of debate about Sorbet and the news of Pollo passing away has its own thread.
