Chris rarely "lies". That is, intentionally says something he knows to be false.

However, Chris has a very malleable sense of reality. His view of the world is like a funhouse mirror. And the thing is, he's not really aware of it. Chris very earnestly believes extremely bonkers stuff about the world.

You can predict Chris' behavior a lot better if, instead of asking "is Chris lying?", you ask "how/why does Chris believe this to be the truth?"

But Chris says that he's been to Cwcville. Not just through astral projection but actually, physically been there. Was he not lying then? How could he truely believe that?

Maybe Chris should just get a list of social norms tattooed on their arm.
If that happens Chris will cease to exist because he's one big social faux pas.
Redneck honey jiggled the bait
I took the worm and man, I ate
Killed my number out at the farm
And they sent me back with more ink than arm

So did he actually think that Michael Snyder was molesting his own children? Like, I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm legitimately curious as to whether or not he somehow convinced himself of that in his own head (and if so, how).

Not every guy would appreciate being kissed by a pushy autistic man wearing a shirt that looks like it was dug up out of a grave.
Fundamentally people shouldn't have to put up with that shit
That's the kind of shit you're paying for if you're paying chris. If chris gave me a big ole slobbery kiss right on the lips I'd be looking for mouthwash fast but I'd hope the photo turned out great. It's like complaining about getting punched by GG Allin.

It is though. Would you be ok with some horribly smelling guy coming up to you and forcibly kissing you?
No, I would tell him to go fuck himself or, you know, don't get close to the smelly, mentally challenged dude to begin with. Posting on twitter how it was sexual assault in the most unproductive, whiny, stupid little ranting anyone could make.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to people enforcing their own boundaries. "Hey, let's take a picture! Woah, dude, easy on the smooches!" And leave it at that. If I were the cop called for this shit, I would dismissed the matter right away and ride into the sunset. Fuck all these oversensitive nerds.

Now you need the police to intervene the kiss-rapist. Jesus.

Those people probably did say something like that to Chris, but as we all know, Chris has hearing issues (i.e. listening to what he wants to hear/tuning out people who exceed the hurtful truth level), so Chris will just do whatever he wants.

But Chris says that he's been to Cwcville. Not just through astral projection but actually, physically been there. Was he not lying then? How could he truely believe that?
He genuinely believes that CWCville is real in some capacity. I think Idea Guy told him that his alternate dimension self has been to CWCville or something. But I wouldn't call this a direct case of Chris lying, it's it just convincing himself that his delusional fantasies can/have happen(ed).

While Chris may not intentionally lie, I think it's very clear that Chris is an extremely unreliable narrator and -- regardless of whether he is lying or giving you his version of what he earnestly wants/believes to be true -- any uncorroborated story that someone may get from him needs to be taken with multiple grains of salt.
Obviously.

My point with what you were quoting was that, when people try to analyze Chris' statements and his behavior, to figure out what really went down, if they jump to "he's lying", they're not going to really have any idea of what happened, if anything.

Whereas if you start with the assumption that Chris believes he's telling the truth, you can pick out kernels of facts from his incredibly biased presentation of the event.

You can salvage truth from Chris' stories, is my point. Not by believing Chris, but believing Chris is giving the story in good faith, as far as he's capable of, anyway.
But Chris says that he's been to Cwcville. Not just through astral projection but actually, physically been there. Was he not lying then? How could he truely believe that?
It's a religious belief. Chris has bonkers beliefs.

Chris thinks it's possible. "Possible" is as good as confirmed if it'll satisfy one of Chris' existing viewpoints.
