[6-Oct-2021] Twitch data on streamer income leaks - How close were revenue estimates?

this isn't specifically related to Phil but it is related to the leaks, so I'm putting it here and no one can stop me. also I lied I guess it does relate to phil.

been readin' over the twitter stuff with Hasan and I don't know much about the man. but I don't care for streamers, they're the most useless and yet overvalued source of entertainment on the planet currently. you can't have 20000 people sucking your dick every day and stay a good person.

hassan apparently makin' 200k a month. can you imagine? man is making 20x a doctors yearly salary, per month, because this missing link between Neanderthals and Homosapiens grunts at a youtube video a few times a day.

seein' people defendin' him with "what, you mad he makes money?"

i grow tired of this sycophantic culture that twitch and youtube have cultivated, the fact people willingly throw away their money to prop up others that don't even know they exist just so they can feel some level of human connection for a fleeting moment in their miserable lives.

XqC makes 752k a month. can you imagine? imagine the good you could do with that. imagine the actual life changing shit you could do with 752k a month. now i rarely watch twitch streamers, maybe this XqC is a saint. maybe he is givin, 600k of that a month to cancer research. but i doubt it.

now let's bring it back to the old fat boy himself. i've said before i don't care about how much money Phil gets and I meant that, I don't care. but I do care about this pathetic new generation of people who treat streamers like they're actual celebrities, instead of just being self absorbed people with a camera and an internet connection.

i've talked enough. i'll just leave you with this.

if the leaks on the income are entirely true, Hassan made 200,000$ in September.

The President of the United States of America is paid 400,000$ per year.
So it did say he made something like 200k in Sept. 2021. The leak said he made $2,810,480 for the 26 months the leak covered prior, which comes out to about $108,095 which isn't much better in the realm of "why tf do these leeches make so much while being so scummy and barely entertaining" but it does show volatility to some degree. The swing can be wide in his favor and against him, so losing a few arabic paypigs can crash a streamer hard. This is also before taxes, which can be a bit insane to look at when people make this much.

Wait until you hear how much money soccer players make lol
fucked up if true
The caveat to sports players having stupid high paychecks is to compensate for the fact that their careers are extremely short.
Football players average about 3 years, basketball’s about 5, and soccer is around 8. It’s still good money don’t get me wrong but it’s not as big of a total amount as you’d originally think.

Athletes depending on the sport make people a lot of money, therefore they get their share of that money.

Youtube (Google) and Twitch (Amazon) are a bit different since their streaming sites are more about company growth than being profitable. Phil's "service" goes directly against that, but he's not relevant enough for anyone to care.

How many of them are asking their fans for money and pretending to be living in poverty?

I dont care how much money someone makes but when you're being dishonest/deceptive for money its kind of a problem. Theres a reason why we have laws related to fraud.

Also since we know how much athletes are paid, I would be all for some kind of system where streamers/youtubers who accept money from fans directly have to disclose how much money they make each year though. It would cut down on the bullshit people like dsp do to swindle naive morons out of their money by pretending to be poor.

the biggest stars pocket like 70 million a year , so quite a lot more than 200k
i think the main difference is these people are in the elite of humans physically wise. they are also incredibly skilled at their craft. have you ever played against a retired pro soccer player. it was 5 of us against one and we couldn't even make one measly point. and he was retired, imagine in his prime. the point is these guys are payed because they do what very few others can do.
phil on the other hand has absolutely no skill at gaming. he's been playing videogames as his job for the last 12ish years and still sucks complete ass at it.

actually phil does two things. commentary and gaming. he sucks ass at both even though he's been doing it for the last 12 years. he's actually gotten worse at commentary. how does someone accumulate zero skill after doing something for so long?
i used to play metal gear games a lot and i stopped. but even now, i can pick them up and beat them on hard with no deaths, even though i stopped playing for over a year.

The vast majority of the time, nobody's paying him to game though. "Papavera" paypigs who sponsor a game are the exception. Most of the time the wheelchairs are donating because of their own particular mental disabilities, not anything Phil does.

Yep i HATE that argument: "you watch sports, it's the same thing as watching someone stream". Uh no it's not. Im watching a human at the peak of physicality play and do something of which very few people can do at such a high level. Any idiot can grab a camera or capture device and play video games. Even "pro" gamers, It's not as if anyone of the morons watching a "pro" gamer can't also become as good with some practice.

Just look at this. https://www.esports.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Cellium-CDL.jpg Look at these 2 stud ATHLETES!

The problem with streaming being so financially successful is that it's rarely based on talent or entertainment. The main reason is these are lonely people looking for any sign of attention and validation in life. It's a sign of a rotten, decaying society with too many broken people.

Zero Feedback taken into consideration from all sources, including Phil himself because he doesn't care about the quality of his commentary. As such, from whatever point he started at, once he starts degrading and that has just as much a result as putting in more effort, he'll just set thw lower threshold of effort as the new standard and the cycle repeats until we get to where we are now.

Likewise, that's why he's shit at games. He doesn't actually enjoy them so he doesn't put in the effort to learn them as obviously what works for one game likely will apply in some way to another of a similar kind. Plus he is quite genuinely dumb.

Of course Phil jumping ship causes it to sink immediately after.
You ever been inside a pool when a blob of walrus blubber cannon balls in next to you?

to keep this on topic. phils only means of enjoyment seems to be short term gratification. thats why he gets pissy when nobody tips. thats why when he plays gambling in yakuza, her perks up.
i bet you if all his paypigs unionized and stopped paying for a week, he'd be eating out of their hands doing what he's told by them, because he's addicted.

It obviously depends on the game, but most top players in whatever game are extremely dedicated and smart in their areas and no, 99% of the people watching them would not be able to reach those levels.
People like BoXeR or JaeDong dominated SC and were nearly untouchable. F0rest, HeatoN and the rest did the same in CS. Fatal1ty on Quake. Hell, fucking Faker in LoL is still a top tier player despite starting what, eight? years ago. Others like Kuroda or Haitani are still untouchable in Third Strike.

Speaking of sports, remember Anelka, probably the laziest player football has ever seen? Or good ol' Ronaldo, who fucked up his knees due to becoming a walking lard golem? It's very easy to draw the examples you want to defend your argument.

You could do the reverse and show some very hard-working progamers, like Freakazoid or Pasza.

Streamer culture is retarded. That doesn't mean anyone can do what a pro gamer does.

Streaming is basically luck. Blow up due to X reason and enjoy cruising through life.

One of the top streamers on Twitch, MOONMOON was a literally who. Got featured by Blizzard on their launcher, the rest is history. TimtheTatman viewbotted himself into the hundreds of thousands, people checked in to see what was happening, look at him now.

Return to monke. For real.

soccer players need an actual physical skill and have to train.

they don't sit on their ass watching youtube. actors make a shit ton of money as well. Drew Carey was making like, 250,000$ per 30 minute episode of his TV show back in the day.

I don't have much problem with that because at least they actually do something. whether or not that something is worth the money is up for debate, but it IS something.

Which is funny as far as Phil goes since you'd think something that really is randomized might actually be something he's into, like Roguelikes since normally what gear you get is random if you aren't using a seed. But then again in order to truly enjoy roguelikes you have to be able to actually roll with just about anything you do get and be good with the base mechanics of combat. Phil honestly has trouble handling gameplay that goes past pushing one button. Speaking of which did he ever play Balan Wonderland, which was LITERALLY built around using single button gameplay?

He doesn't want to "play" games anymore. He wants to cheese them and add another game to his completed list. He simply put, does not want to think, why else does he rely on chat? It's why he will always be god awful at modern fighting games and racers.

In regards to Balan Wonderworld, he never played it. If on the off chance he did, he'd initially have fun at the simplicity but lose his shit at the Balan QTEs and how the game practically requires backtracking to make progress. Then he'd say the game was fun just be a contrarian like with ride to hell.

Pigroach was so angy at twitch, throwing insults at everyone at twitch both streamers and staff, calling viewers retards for throwing absurd amounts of money - totally not envious dude because they aren't anything compared to the allmighty DarksydePhil! *snort*

What a joke. The cognitive dissonance and arrogance is staggering.
