It's wild to me this is their job considering how often the mischaracterize or completely fuck up conveying something. And I actually like most of them! They're becoming Dave slowly, and not fighting against it. They saw Dave getting along fine and how his fans would turn away from reality to continue supporting him, and said "yeah ok I'll do that too". They make mini-cults. Tevin's best shit often has nothing to do with DSP, and his best DSP shit is older when he was a bit better hooked in. Too bad he didn't discourage the faggots in the crew from supporting DSP for years and offhandedly encouraged it.

They tip him for the dopamine, they continue to be there for the dopamine, and they will actively avoid attaching thoughts of giving him money to any doubts about him. They segregate this through the common enemy. "These people fucking with DSP means he needs more support now than ever!" All kinds of rationale to build walls in their mind between the truth of his situation that continues to come out and the thing that makes them feel good. They don't actually like phil, even his legit fans belittle him. They tip for their own parasocial addiction to him and the community. If you could cut them off from it for about a month they would seek other dopamine sources, which are guaranteed to be just as bad but cheaper and probably recognize them more, and they wouldn't come back or would but not with money. They don't fixate on detractors but detractors are for sure a critical part of their post-rationalization logic.
He's already played this card while his audience doesn't remember him saying he wasn't making money while he was on twitch.
Phil is the least important person to his "community". They could go anywhere else and nothing would change as he's never involved in their discussions. If anything, it might change for the better, as there's less of a reason to censor people and might have some fun for once.
