[6-October-2019] DSP gets a $20 tip to buy Untitled Goose Game, walks it back the next day and asks viewers for shop credit - Thanks for the money, dummy!

Still no idea if this is the actual guy, but for archival's sake:

I love how DSP absolutely refuses to play a game twice.

If this motherfucker is so hard up for money, why doesn't he play 2018 games? Play God of War, his GotY last year? Play Detroit, the one game he actually loved last year since it was a choose your own adventure game. Play Assassin's Creed or Megaman. Play Link's Awakening. Play FF4 again.

I know WHY he doesn't, but it would be the first question I would ask him if I were an actual fan.

Oh, he'll play a game as many times as he can stand if he thinks it'll make him money and if he can put as little effort behind it as possible, which is why we've seen Redemption Runs of things like the MGS games (famous for being the progenitors of TIHYDP) and Soulsborne (difficult games unless you're willing to research how to cheese them). He drums up huge drama for these second (/third/fourth/whatever) playthroughs and before they start crams like he's about to take an exam on how to most easily get through the toughest parts. That way he gets to feed his wallet and his ego at the same time, or at least he would if it weren't 95% the same group of easily-impressed wheelchairs tossing him quarters.

He's getting to replay a bunch of games, apparently, so he's actually doing just this.

Edit: @Comma, I added a link to the TKOH forum thread and an archive link to the first post. I didn't see you had already archived, but mine was slightly newer, so I went ahead and put that one.

Let's also not neglect the fact that constantly playing new games pays additional benefit via his shrugging that cost off onto his viewers and the fact that he can demand digital credits with no fully accurate way for anyone to track how much he's getting while still crying poor and accepting actual currency to play new games as well, just as he did in the circumstance covered in the OP. There's nothing saying five of his fans didn't also send him Nintendo credits (or cash) to play UGG around the same time without saying a word and he didn't just pocket all of it.

If he's playing stuff he already has he can't add that double-dip to the streams.

Some more khantext from last night's (10/06/19) Genesis Mini Chillin' and Scammin' stream.
This is from DSP's unrecorded end of stream victory lap, where DSP thanks the paypigs and tryhard trolls for all the money they threw into his tin cup.

"So, good stuff coming up! And! *DOUBLE FINGERPOINTS* Today, somebody gifted me enough-- uh, to get the Untitled Goose Game! So, I'll be playing that this upcoming weekend. So, a lot of variety coming up this week. *HAND CLAP* Some good stuff! Okay?"

Of all the grifts that DSP has done recently this is a very perplexing one.
Why did DSP immediately go back on his word, and claim that "MUH BILLS, DOOD!" swallowed up the twenty dollars that djruno1, a cuck, gave to buy Untitled Goose Game?
He wasn't planning on playing the game until this weekend anyway.

Philip "Darksydephil" Burnell is a racist. FULL STOP.
Philip "Darksydephil" Burnell is a grifter. FULL STOP.

Philip "Darksydephil" Burnell feigns financial distress and uses emotional manipulation, of both his supporters and his detractors, to extract money from children and naive adults.

There's not a goddamn thing about his story that makes sense.

If he's as broke as he says he shouldn't be buying anything except essentials (which is not happening) and frantically cancelling unnecessary expenditures (also not happening). He should be actively encouraging viewers to tip (he gets that munny right away) to the exclusion of any other form of contribution if at all possible. He has a massive game library that he can fall back on so there is no need whatsoever to be playing new releases. He has probably the second most stable audience numbers on Twitch regardless of what he's playing, right behind people who get exactly zero viewers. He can literally play Pacman and pull the same numbers.

All this to say: he is not broke. He is running the same game he has been for the last umpteen years, this is just another stage of it. Why he fucked up and claimed that he didn't have the money for UGG 12 hours after receiving it is beyond me. I don't know if he thinks so little of his fans that he honestly forgot that $20 of what he got the night before was meant for something specific or what. Clearly he's not pleased with bring called out on it so part of me thinks he actually did forget and he's embarrassed about it but who knows. The man has no shame so that stuff is hard to pin down.

1) Because he probably realizes that he can get the money twice this way.

2) Because he can punish his fanbase by not following instructions, the same way Machinima had the support agent against DSP's wishes send him the release notice and how the property management company against DSP's wishes called him instead of emailed him.

That's how narcs think. It's not enough to do things for them; you have to do them on the narc's terms or else it doesn't count.

Didn’t he have to get a credit card to make a purchase on one of his game systems recently? Did he actually follow through with that or did it become an excuse not to make the purchase? I’m wondering if it’s possible that Kat has taken over his finances and has him on an extraordinarily tight leash. It’s like he’s not allowed to have money. I wonder if he’s developed some kind of gambling habit at some point.

Edited to avoid a double post:
How did Philip refund the $20 if he doesn’t have a dollar to his name and all the money he gets goes to bills?

He hadn't allocated that $20 to bills yet.

Man it's been too long since I laughed at Phil but this did it. What a mature response from an almost 40 year old man over $20. This is the same guy who stopped making those barest of bones edited reviews because he only made "a few hundred dollars" from them. The man who won't talk to someone on the phone once to rent out the Connecticut condo because he'd only get paid ~$800 from rent. Give Phil $12k in subs it's no big deal, but try to chargeback $20(which he always wins) and he becomes the pettiest asshole possible.
