It's my understanding that 6996 was allegedly an 'editing group' prior to Rabid turning it into another 764-like group around 2021.

6996 has been looked into by researchers extensively, this one specifically https://www.isdglobal.org/explainers/764/ came to the conclusion that 6996 had nothing to do with extortion and labeled it an ARG that had been rebranded by people in the extortion community for clout.

People dig up old content made by members such as me trying to claim it’s “extortion content” like the poster above did with a picture of my own leg with my own username scratched into it using a thumb tack,

I’ve even seen people try and claim that this picture is extortion when once again it’s literally me in the picture

6996 was started as an arg (something popular online at the time) we all started it as teenagers and it evolved into an art project over time stepping away from the gore and into vhs art films/ and editing/producing music videos/merch for artists and even our own clothing line which is decently popular in Russia, while you might see it as cringe it was never something serious as people these days present their groups we leaned into the cringe and edgy aesthetics and were pretty self aware, think of 6996 like a creepy pasta as that’s how we viewed it and never tried to portray it as otherwise, it’s not uncommon to see people get creepy pasta related tattoos, and the drawings are made/done by us and it’s not uncommon for people to get their own artwork tattooed. Also 6996 isn’t a “telegram group” as we hardly had a presence on telegram the last official stuff we ever made was around 2020-21 it was mainly on vk and in the later days kik.

Interesting I don’t think I ever remember seeing Shultz claim to be a member of 6996 or anything like that, would you be able to post the mention of this? I’m interested to see who said it because I’ve actually never seen him claim a group in all the years I’ve known him.

Ah yes these channels are run by Xavier eilux aka staz the one responsible for the post above, Xavier is an ex court admin and someone who has been around awhile, the court admins actually reached out to me saying that they had nothing to do with Xavier’s post and that Xavier was never an “official” admin within court

I’m inclined to believe this as it’s just an odd thing to lie about and my most recent exports of private court groups have no mentions of Xavier/staz, nor is he in them
