I just want a proper Battlefront 3. We almost had it with Dice's Battlefront 2 when they were finally starting to implement a conquest mode but EA axed the games development shortly after.
At this point I given up hope on a proper Battlefront sequel. If it ever does happen it will come with a monkey's paws style twist I have no doubt.
Battlefront is one of those series much like Sonic Adventure in which the game is complete trash, but has a huge following because its fans couldn't buy better games.
It's legitimately impressive how well the Wii version runs with all the assets and units on screen. I have a suspicion that this was an early enough build they didn't have time to downscale/cut out features to fit it on the console.
It ain't Triple A quality with the pop in and the placeholder voice acting for grunts but it is cool to see what looks like a complete campaign as opposed to the condensed psp version.
This feels like the DNF 2001 all over again. People went around for years saying that DNF 2001 was 90% conplete and the evil bad developers and publishers wouldn't release it because they were stupid shitheads. Then it got leaked and it turned out the game wasn't 90% finished and was nowhere near close to it. It's actually more like a half finished tech demo.
It's honestly not that hard to bypass. Either you follow the good old method:
> Create a folder on your G-Drive
> Select the file you need
> Create a shortcut
> Place it in the folder
> Download the folder
Or if that doesn't work, you:
> Login to your Google Drive
> Create a new folder
> Open a link from the spreadsheet
> Top-right corner, click more actions & click "Add to starred"
> In your G-Drive go to starred, right-click the link, hover "Organize" & select "Add shortcut".
> Select your newly created folder to add the shortcut
> Go to "My drive" & right-click your folder & select "Download"

From looking at the released content I Completely disagree. It's not finished of course but this is still a game that is 95 to 96 percent done as far as animations, framework, main character voice acting and level design go.
Visually and bug wise there's still a couple months work to that needs to be put into it. Some of the multiplayer needs ai, there needs to be more voice acting for the clone grunts and the Jedi combat looks wonky but this has a full campaign that can be glued together and see the light of day as opposed to duke.
For me it is just a perspective problem. The game is good, but what Battlefront did was not new for me and I believe had already been superseded by other games. I cut my teeth on Quake, Earth/Starsiege and Tribes
Really loved landing a cruiser full of infantry under heavy fire from enemy fighters on the opposition's battle ship in Quake.
Planetside 2 was terrible (never played 1), and while BF 1942 was very good, it didn't quite do what Battlefront did. Vehicles in Battlefield are just another way to kill infantry as they take flags. Battlefront is the only game I've played where the key role of vehicles as infantry landing craft is captured.
