Probably the aforementioned issue with driveby posts. It's a problem with every thread which gets featured. I wasn't the one who decided to unfeature it, though. Animal Control is a quiet board, so it's affected by features a lot more.

I'm considering making containment threads for notable furry drama rather than linking directly to a megathread itself in the future. Maybe even for individual furry lolcows, since otherwise it just draws people who've never even heard of them before to give insipid commentary. Furries don't receive any special privileges, at least not from me. Even if I don't like them, I treat them the same as any other user, which means I don't step in if people make fun of them, whether or not I truly care. That is, unless I feel there's something of value in compiling any information, hence my willingness to make containment threads summarizing any future drama in the community.

I adore seeing reactions to furry drama. I want to see new people reacting to a hyper-leftist furry artist threatening suicide by blueberry and coming back under an Asian stereotype fursona named "Kung-fu Sama." The fact there are individuals who don't even know who I'm referencing is so disappointing to me. If the concern was over furries being treated poorly, posts which make the community as a whole look as awful as they truly are wouldn't be featured to begin with. The problem is I'd like to show how awful furries are without degrading the quality of the thread I draw the information from.
