A message regarding the enemies of this website

Fair enough. It's something that I'm naturally cautious of, and wouldn't ever pair up my Kiwi user info with anything else that's identifiable. I'm not really all that up on the details of Steam's security setup.
The only way you can be identified through steam is if you link your Steam account to something that already has your dox on it

I feel that this should be a permanent fixture at the front page of this forum. I also think that this should be sent to newcomers to this site when they register here.

The current age of internet has definitely unleashed some of the more sinister persons.

I can't baby all of you. I get PMs from people pretty much once a week at least saying, "help, this insane person doxxed me and wants to kill me". I'm sorry, but that shit happens. Happens to me, happens to everyone. Don't say anything on this forum that you don't want your real name and family portrait to sit next to.
Is it that important to talk about Christian Weston Chandler and increase visibility on every social networking post that rubs us the wrong way? You could always take the site down if you don't like it. What do you expect for invoking chansite culture?

So basically: don't be a retard and you don't have to worry about being doxxed. If you are a chill person, all doxxing you will result in is more people seeing how chill you are, and your enemies desperately struggling to find something negative.

Now if they find your nudes on a furry forum or an 'how to make a bomb' blog you used to run, and you did all that under your forum name, good luck with that - you're fucked and you had it coming.

There are more malicious things that someone with your personal information can do than mock you on the internet.

Agreed. It's easy to go from practicing standard net safety techniques to going full paranoia. Don't post personal info, check your privacy settings, vary your passwords, done.

Just remember this, my fine Kiwis: As the Farms has become a source of chronicling the trials and trifles of despicable people in general, so too have those people gotten more savvy - and more brutal. Look at the likes of Vade, who drove her boyfriend to suicide, and who once had such power on Tumblr that huge swathes of people were terrified of ever crossing her. Look at the likes of Brianna Wu, who we cover and who has, in essence, a private army that openly harasses people.

The common thread in these two and many others here is Social Justice. Let's not beat around the bush here. They're a major component of what Null just mentioned. Because the Farms, if only through chronicling the actions of those involved with it, actively opposes Social Justice nuttery, you need to be aware of The Three Rules of Social Justice. Not all SJWs are nutters, mind, but the overpowering majority of them believe in these three tenets:

1. Any Action is Allowable in the Name of Social Justice

2. Everyone is an Acceptable Target in the Name of Social Justice

3. No Location is Exempt from Scrutiny in the Name of Social Justice

Take a quick look at the Gamergate Thread over the likes of Sophia Banks, Sarah Nyberg, Laurelai Bailey, Randi Harper, and hundreds of other SJWs who believe wholeheartedly that you are not entitled to your opinion, you are not allowed to have a platform to voice that opinion, and that they are completely justified in silencing you, no matter what needs to happen to make that eventuality real. This is not anomalous in their world-view - they believe that anyone who they disagree with can and should be brought to task, preferably by having their lives ruined. Threatening them, doxxing them, and even violating a site's policies to do it are all fair game because it's being done in the name of almighty SocJus.

Geordie Tait isn't an outlier is what I'm getting at here, people.

We're going to be dealing with people who will not hesitate to do horrible things and believe they have that right because of the moral rightness of their own side. Ignoring for a moment how similar this is to religious fundamentalism, consider, if you will, many incidents that we've seen in just the last six months, from people who are comparatively mid-line in the Social Justice camp - whether it's Adam Sessler saying that people who use the word "Faggot" on Xbox Live should be doxxed, to the recently-covered-in-the-Brianna Wu thread Geth_N7 Incident, where a user who did not break any rules was forcibly silenced by team Wu. Consider scientists like Matt Taylor or Tim Hunt, who essentially had their lives ruined because of an off-color joke or wearing a tiki shirt that was a gift from a female friend - because the Social Justice ideologues wanted it to be so. Consider the Zoey Tur incident, who, after a MUH PRONOUNS incident, threatened to hospitalize another commentator on national television and then doxxed him afterwards on Twitter for good measure, and when people went to Twitter about this, Twitter said the violation of the rules wasn't their problem. Consider Tumblrs like Racists Getting Fired, which were all about doxxing and harassing people who dared to disagree with the masses on shitstorms like Ferguson. Consider that there is a man right now facing fucking criminal charges for disagreeing with a Social Justice ideologue.

Even the mere fact that people are allowed to discuss it like human beings is rage-inducing for them. They try to actively tone police and censor every single thing they can, and their hatred for free speech is well documented. In their world-view, opinions not their own cannot be said, lest you violate their safe space. Any "problematic" element must be dealt with, harshly and immediately. They believe in guilt-by-association and that impartiality is a lie. They believe everything is political. They believe that this means that if you disagree, you must be removed from the internet. Don't believe me? Go take a look at Reddit sometime. Or ponder how Voat happened. Or 8chan. Or how m00t sold out 4chan.

This is the kind of shit Null is talking about.

You need to look at this, nonflinchingly, and with complete understanding: Social Justice does not want lolcows chronicled, for fear of what lurks in their own closets. They do not want accountability, they do not want anyone to have the right to so much as disagree with them, let alone call them out for their shit. They don't even feel we should have the right to discuss them here on the Farms. Hell, most of them feel the Farms must not exist. Simply standing up for normalcy makes you their enemy - opposing them outright makes you heretical.

That's what we're up against, my Kiwis.
That's what we oppose right now.

That's why you have to know what you're getting into. The laws of measured response and common fucking decency do not apply to these individuals, which is why staying level-headed is so fucking important. If you can, take security measures. If you can't, then be ready to ride out the storm if it comes to that.

This isn't to say we should ever be alarmist about it, we just need to be aware. The proper response to SJW shit is to mock it, as it has always been.

Actually I'm just here to laugh at fat people.

Then you laugh at those fat people, man.

You laugh so long, and so hard. And fuck anyone who tries to stop you.

That's only what happens if you get doxed by one of us. We rummage through your shit and if we find something embarrassing we laugh at you, and if you chimp out about it we keep laughing at you. If you're chill about it, we get bored and move on because we want to see people chimp out unreasonably. If anyone goes far enough as to give somebody a valid reason to be chimping out, we don't think that's funny, and we think the person fucking with them is an asshole.

But we're talking about getting doxed by bitter and vindictive tumblrinas now. It doesn't matter how chill you are. It doesn't matter how reasonable you are. They're out to destroy lives raise awareness of problematic individuals. They will contact your employers to tell them you're a child-raping racist who literally raped them. They will contact your family to hiss death and rape threats at them. They will mail dead animals to your house and make phony police reports against you.

It doesn't matter how chill you are, if you don't want to be explaining to your mother why a bunch of strange men are phoning up and threatening to rape her, or explaining to your girlrfiend why dozens of pre-teen girls are ringing up saying that you raped them, or explaining to a tactical response unit that you don't even have a basement to store dead murdered bodies in, try not to get doxed by these sick animals.

I'm just sitting on the sidelines. Getting involved is too risky.

Other points of advice:

1. Have different passwords for different accounts on websites whenever possible. The last thing you want is to have every account you use get hijacked for using the same password.

2. Keep your ego in check and don't say or do anything threatening, even if you're just joking or don't really mean it. People will report that or expose you in other ways and that'll bite you in the ass later on.

Thank you for that post!
One has to remember that you just can never be not paranoid enough when it comes to the internet, especially when moving in a community like the farms.

I also agree that this post or something similar should be shown to newbies before they register. Maybe in a shorter form or something, since lots of people are just too lazy to read
