A reminder for anyone that thinks lockdowns are alright from time to time

i dont like lockdowns unless its under 2 conditions. its never more than temporary and its an actual emergency.
no, a disease that has a .01% chance of killing you isnt a real emergency.
if the disease had like a 30% chance of killing you or something, that makes some sense.
by always temporary, i mean by law, a lockdown can never be more than a certain amount of time, no matter what.
whether it be a week or a month, you cannot extend it and it can never be more than a certain amount of time either.
so like a month hard limit.
This would only make sense if there was any evidence that lockdowns - general quarantine orders, really - work in preventing the spread of disease. The only way they could conceivably work is if everyone is locked in their homes - no exceptions. That means no food deliveries, no exempted "key workers", no special circumstances, no police or ambulances. Everyone. Think about the logistics of enforcing a total ban on being outside when the means of enforcing it also falls under the ban. The moment you make an exception for the police, or whatever special organisation you're using to enforce the lockdown, you have a vector to spread the disease. Lockdown fails.

We had the chinks literally sealing people in their homes, I think it's safe to say not only does it fail, but it also does more damage than it is worth.

Is there anyone on this site who is still enough of an NPC to deny or not understand this? Seems doubtful.
Yeah, there's plenty of you go looking.Their hugbox has gone fairly quiet as they're all busy cooming over Nyooo and Shinnneeeeeee news to consooooooooom.

Yes, but they don't matter. You don't spend hours of your life trying to revive a vine that bares rotten fruit. They're creating their own prisons, and it's no one else's job to save them.

After being around to witness the last few years, do you really think it's wise to grant that power over you to the government? I understand the (seemingly) well-meaning intentions behind what you're saying, but has it not been made abundantly clear to one and all that no governing body on this planet is your friend? That they'll abuse every last measure that is allowed/tolerated by the people?

I was a neet when the lockdowns were on so I was pretty comfy.

On the other side of the same coin, my job is kind of essential (like for real essential, not Amazon delivery or McDick's) and I'd pegged most restrictions as a bunch of fake and gay security theater from the get-go, so it wasn't a big deal at first to me personally because very little changed. I wasn't too bent out of shape about the initial two weeks to flatten the curve to be honest because I had no idea what we were actually dealing with and I couldn't make heads or tails of the weird shit we were seeing on chink social media. After a couple of months full of gay political posturing, do-gooder faggots getting fruity little power trips about other people ignoring restrictions no matter how retarded they are, and the Great Pan-Am Chimpout of 2020 not resulting in the mountains of bodies on the streets I was promised that I started to feel ripped off and the completely arbitrary and largely useless restrictions only getting tighter began to boil my piss on an ideological level.

But yeah watching my countrymen by and large take it like absolute bitches, or even complain that lockdowns should have been stricter and that covid would've been eradicated if people followed the restrictions harder or something, seeing how many people were perfectly okay with perpetuating a mostly bullshit crisis to justify mouldering on their couches collecting perpetual government gibs to spend on Amazon and Doordash... I didn't have much faith in humanity before but the general public managed to badly disappoint me. And then these very same lazy cocksuckers had the gall to cry about their MeNtAl HeAlTh deteriorating after multiple months of basically being human fungus... I mean, do you fucking think? A few eccentrics might be legitimately living their best lives as NEETs but for most people that shit fucks you up.

Spoiler'd because I'm not saying anything new here and thinking about it still pisses me off a little so I lost the plot of whatever the fuck I was trying to say.

tl;dr people are lazy, lazy motherfuckers and if the government decided high speed internet and Amazon delivery were not essential services, we would've seen cartel style mob justice being enacted on some politicians by Fall 2020 at latest. However unfortunate it may be, a ton of retards salivate over the idea of staying home on UBI and think all problems must be solved by asking Daddy Government to put the boots on our neck a little harder. At least if this really was a dry run for enacting a real totalitarian hellscape I can wait for the first big internet outage so I can watch the bugpeople gouge their own eyes out and neck themselves en masse.
