Kinda, it's not as bad as the movie thoughIs it faithful to the books?
Clearly you have never heard of Hans Conried
It's like if Wes Anderson made a show, if you don't like his work you'll hate this showMy siblings and I are big fans of the books (haven't finished the last one myself, but I really should), and we collectively hated the show. It felt too...zany? Like I know the books are zany but the books also had an extremely dry wit that wasn't felt in the show. The show felt like it was trying too hard to be wacky, especially with Neil Patrick Harris' Olaf. Olaf just doesn't feel threatening in this adaptation, not like the book or even the Jim Carrey version. Hell, we actually like the movie version. It felt a little closer to the book in terms of style and atmosphere.
That said, we stopped watching after the third episode of first season, so maybe it gets better but I'm not willing to sit through more of it.
That's not really true. My family loves Wes Anderson. It's like if Wes Anderson made a show, if you don't like his work you'll hate this show
Well, to be honest there's a lot of inconsistencies between the books and the episodesThat's not really true. My family loves Wes Anderson.
