Stop being so defeatist you lot lol.

Odd as this may sound if KF did get shut down because of this there's the very real potential of this snowballing into a bigger problem; using extortion/terrorist like tactics to get what you want and succeeding can bolster already fragile egos. You're have these 'mysterious' parties doing it to other platforms they don't agree with just to force them to shut down.

Swatting is not only dangerous but despicable and evil.. Whether it's from/for the left, right, center, for the lulz etc. Not only that but it is also basically antithetical to the very idea of this site. To document, look at and laugh at morons, retards, assholes and other types of cows. It is utterly ridiculous that people, that ANYONE is taking this at face value. The person literally CALLED BACK to say "oh yeah and i'm from kiwifarms".

It also sounds like companies and businesses need to start acting like fucking adults and actual businesses!

In fact.. Given the nature of our actual "connection" to this mess.. It would be an extremely dangerous precedence. Establishing a standard where all you have to do is say the name of your enemy and poof!

When did we stop teaching our kids not to share their private information on the internet?
Its a good and valid question. I remember being taught to not post personal and private stuff online, especially not with you name and face attached.

It used to be common sense back then, but the Internet landscape has completely changed to the point where it is strange to not post every single aspect of your life online.

If you hooked up GPT-3 with the prompt "call to 911" to an AI speech synthesizer and began swatting indiscriminately, you could bring America's emergency response network to its knees.

That would be real stochastic terrorism.
I mean, that's the logical conclusion, right? That's where this ends up. Spoofers, AI, and text to speech aren't going to get worse all of a sudden, and emergency services can't exactly blanket reject calls that come from a VOIP number or that are obviously spoofed, so the government is going to have to figure out a way to cope with the new reality.

We're in an era where it isn't outside the realm of possibility to set up an AI with a synthesized voice to just pull random PII from some third party like Spokeo to flood a city's emergency services with bullshit calls on random people and homes; all for the sole purpose of crippling response. It isn't like NYPD can respond to 28 hostage situations, and unless they figure out a way, either technological or administrative, to prevent what's obviously coming, innocents are going to die, whether that be from the cops shooting them or from the cops being unable to respond to real calls.

Pulling down the Farms only shows that it works, and will encourage not only the original caller but copycats as well. Imagine if in response to Anonymous or LULZSEC temporarily taking over the FBI's website, whenever the fuck that was, the government decided to just not have websites anymore.

Like a brain that is damaged, the internet perceives censorship as damage, and routes around it. It has held true for a long time, I hope it holds true here.
You've taken a stand Josh, it won't be for naught. See all you fuckers in the next iteration.
Anyway, it's not over til the fat gunt sings.

I was joking about it in a previous thread, but honestly if MTG or anyone else would simply visit the site, they'd realize we're harmless. It's a website with silly pictures and inside jokes, not a global cyber crime organization. Hell, in her case, she'd probably love the free speech aspect.
After 15 minutes on the farms, the only question left unanswered would be what "sneed" means.
