Imagine we are Sweden. We have a long history. We have a distinct culture. We had to fight for independence. We had to punch up to protect ourselves. We struggled to remain neutral during trying times. And now, in an era of peace and prosperity, the ideologue comes to our doors from the war-torn shithole of Kekistan seeking refuge. Should I think if we let them in they will assimilate? That I won't end up with my cars on fire and them lugging grenades at me for not obeying their laws?

As a western nation we shouldn't stop national pride from getting in the way of understanding that it's our way of life that's created the middle eastern shitstorm and refugee crisis in the first place. First we colonised the fuck out of the third world and treated the people there like shit. Then we up and left and installed puppet regimes which failed hard and allowed warlords to rise up. Then we enriched those warlords by buying stuff off them and made them more powerful, then we started buying oil from the middle east and made THOSE warlords rich. Then we decided we didn't like warlords so we stopped buying some stuff and you know, warlords gonna war. Then we started sending aid to the governments of those countries, who are, you know, warlords and we made them richer. Now it's a dump and they all want to come here to get away from it all. Can you blame them?
