A day off of lounging around, watching movies, eating take-out, and drinking gin. Because I highly doubt this dude is sleeping all day because if he was actually sick and took over the counter stuff, he would have recovered much, much more quickly.

I don't think he even went over what he's been doing to relieve his symptoms besides cough drops and sleeping. Just simply listing off symptoms from webmd.

For something as simple as a doctor's visit to get antibiotics/cough meds/whatever he'd probably be looking at a copay of $20-$50, considering. Sometimes hard to cover if you're hand-to-mouth. Chump change if you're a streamer who makes that in a night if things are slow.

EDIT to note: that estimate is assuming he's going to an in-network general practitioner, not being an exceptional individual and waiting until things are unbearable to go to urgent care at 3 AM.

We have been speculating that Dark got a 5 year ARM (Basically an adjustable rate mortage that is fixed ror the first 5 years and then is adjustable possibly causing a large baloon payment). it explains why he is so desperate to refinance (2019 would be year 5) and why he is so worried and has these otehr behind the scenes things he wont tell us about related to finances. it also explains why he wants tips so bad right now before 12/31 so it can go on his 2018 income taxes to help get the refinance approved.

You're forgetting that DSP is almost perpetually sick/unwell. There's even that house tour video from years ago that showed his cabinet of meds. Plus whenever he does a "good boi" stream and stops snorting its possible he takes a nasal steroid spray or some other medication not designed for extended use.

I can understand avoiding a doctor when you rarely get sick, but if you get sick frequently like DSP does and take pills every time you get sick its probable your underlying sickness/issue just subsides and never fully goes away.

Still thinks that reviewing fucking cereal on stream is quality content, playing random boring games is a good holiday special, that there's no need to step up and expand his audience, his stream can't be any more interactive than "pay me and maybe i'll vaguely respond to what you said" and he can't stream more frequently than that.

It's this narcissistic mindset, when he thinks only about his experience on the stream, it's all about him. The fans are just there to contribute and stoke his ego and if you don't like that - get swagged.

For fucks sake, he threw a fit the other day for people not giving him attention in chat and forming their own convos.

Yet, he expects to earn a steady income in one of the most fluctuating careers you can have, without putting even the slightest effort to improve.

The problem with that methodology is that the holidays are when lots of regular people get sick, too. They don't call it cold and flu season for nothing; people's disease-incubating kids are home from school, lots of folks are travelling or shopping and therefore they come into close proximity with more strangers more often than normal so something as simple as Phil getting something from the checkout person at Fred Meyer or his regular pizza guy would be a reasonably likely thing to happen.

I'd say it's suspect that he hasn't mentioned going to the doctor but truth be told unless I was so sick I couldn't sleep, eat, or breathe I wouldn't, either. In response to a cold there's not much that can be done that you can't handle yourself provided you can act like an adult: manage your symptoms, get rest, hydrate and eat even if you don't have an appetite. It's when cold symptoms get so bad that you honestly can't function that you head into the doctor.

DSP not being able to stream isn't what I'd call "unable to function". Yeah, any regular person would look at an inability to do their job and go "shit, I'm fucked up" but Phil probably gets too blasted to stream on most nights anyway so I don't think that qualifies.

She's lived on her own for years unlike 19-20 year old Leanna, who had never lived alone nor had any of the responsibilities one experiences doing so in her entire life. There has to have been one or more 'behind-the-scenes' sizable contributions for D$P to be taking SO much time off AND Khet, who according to D$P is stressed out having to work so much, being okay with his repeatedly playing hooky. Khet would know the difference between a 'calling in sick' illness and a real one. I doubt any reasonable adult would standby doing nothing while someone who is as sick as D$P claims to be shares the same bed as they do and not at this point insists that person sees a doctor. If for no other reason than self preservation.

The money they spent on Chinese food would easily have covered an office visit co-pay or at the very least a bottle of Nyquil/Dayquil. There's another thing. Dayquil exists as does aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen for his headache. If your headache is so bad that otc pain meds don't work, it's not a simple headache and any normal person would have gone to see a doctor days ago. For that matter, someone who's throat has swollen to the point of losing their voice completely and causing them to feel like they are 'choking' would definitely go seek medical attention. I'm sure that everyone here as at one point in their life choked on something and/or experienced the feeling of choking. It's not a good feeling and it can be quite frightening for both the person and anyone witnessing it happen. I'm sorry, but if your 'cold' is affecting your breathing this badly you'd do something more than pop a cough drop.

If he really needs money for the first week of January like he claims he would be freaking out so much right now that he would be streaming sick as a dog and would have streamed yesterday when he was feeling better. its blowing his story of being so broke first week of january straight out the window.
