I fucked around in the online mode for a while and I don't see the point.
Can't even get excited about a mission that isn't Shilage Castle showing up because 8 out of 10 lobbies drop after sitting through that fucking cutscene.

Now I'm capped and they want me to grind more while either using a real plane or wasting XP because of this blueprint shit. I just want my damn pixy laser. I know I won't be able to hit anything with it, I just want it.
Sort of. Not really. I'll probably never open it up again.

I feel like the final two missions of the game should've been swapped.
Last one is just a victory lap. It was chill to be completely on top of shit after straining your thumbs on 11 and fucking 22 back-to-back.

Only this game are the enemies unapologetically evil.
yeah I was only talking about the "globalists"

I have finished my Ace playthrough. I love this game so much. It's not perfect but the sovl and attention to detail poured into it is obvious. I need to play it some more to decide where it belongs in my series rankings but at the moment I am feeling it is possibly up there with Zero which is my favourite.

I'm at mission 20 on my ace run. Some things, like the airburst guns and the laser CIWS, seem much more accurate on Ace. Not really more threatening, since every plane is ridiculously durable, but it seems like I get hit a lot more by the weird weapons on ace. Looking forward to trying to S rank mission 28, since I imagine that's the only mission that will be remotely challenging.

I've more or less settled on my position of 04 > 6 > 0 = 8 > 7 > 5.

Based Fires of Liberation enjoyer. And yes the fucking lasers raped me on Ace.

I am almost as big of a simp and cuck for Ace Combat as I am for Armored Core
I always felt like they were sister series beyond just the common initials. PS1 era vehicle combat games from Japan that still continue to this day in spite of having some really divisive games from them during the PS3 era. Oddly, even the reasons those games aren't or are liked are due to similar reasons; addition of disruptive vehicle modes and weak single player campaign for dislike or well developed online modes for like. I feel like it was the most obvious with the addition of Arms Forts in Armored Core 4 Answer, which felt really inspired by Ace Combat's massive super weapons. Even now it continues with the pretty obvious Pixy inspiration in Rusty.

Is the main composer of 8 Kitadani? A lot of the tracks seem like it's him.

I wish Kotobukiya would put some of their Ace Combat model kits on either their American store or ship outside Japan. I really want their 1/144 CFA-44 Nosferatu model. But sold out on every site except their own. And ebay listings have it for twice the price.

Took down the land battleship last night. Somehow got an S rank on the mission on my first try. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Very satisfying to just barely dip out of the way of the railgun's shots.

Kono got put on a jet, along with Bricky.

I have one question before I consider buying:

Is Debra Wilson an important character, or is she just a celebrity cameo that’s only there for the casting quota? No spoilers, please. Just tell me if she is or not and leave it at that.

A few things to keep in mind about the AC series’ formula is:

1. The first third or so of the game the enemies are arrogant and don’t see you as a threat while your allies try to hype you up at best or are neutral or slightly mocking you at worst.

2. Midway through the game to the end all of your allies exist to essentially wash your balls and polish your shaft while your enemies shit their pants in rage or fear of you as you buttfuck them in droves.

There is no real girlboss shit in AC. For example, much of AC7’s story centered around female characters including a princess but they aren’t insufferable like one would expect from a western studio.

I think it's fine because they didn't give her the Debra Wilson bug eyes
yeah I contemplated this deeply during my playthrough and came to the same conclusion for the same reason

apart from that she's mostly just a disembodied voice, a mean-sounding robot with no personality which is good for an XO.
if there was such a thing as "actually suitable debra wilson casting" at this point i'd call it that. since there isn't, it at least succeeded in not pissing me off.
