Been listening to scanner since news broke. Fucking wild. Complete wild goose chase. Dispatcher keeps reporting multiple calls of shots fired in different locations and cops respond by saying they are on scene and not hearing anything. Bizarre.

My kid is a freshman there right now. Said ton of cop cars all over.

Here's another image. Looks like the guy on the right is wearing jeans, and both the guy in the middle and on the right have either MICH or FAST type ballistic helmets with some variety of optics. This seems to contradict the alleged police scanner report, so who knows. I can tell you for certain that the depicted street sign is one that you'd see at MSU. The number of lanes and width of the median appears to indicate that the street they are walking on is East Shaw Lane, on which IM East is located.


Edit: This location is actually southbound on Bogue Street, so nearby. The pictures were probably taken from Owen Hall.

No idea, I've never heard anything like it. Occam's razor would probably say it's hysterical people mistaking common sounds for gunfire, but the scale it would be happening on is nuts.

I think that is just the illumination from the streetlight on top of the fact its a picture from a phone with the brightness turned up. Campus roads are well lit these days.

They look like they're by IM East, which correlates to earlier reports of shots fired at Hubbard. I'm not sure what to make of reports of shots at Brody. That's a 30-45 minute walk from Hubbard and IM East
