I know this has already been said about Olivia Munn being hired for her looks and thats it but an interesting thing to note about Morgan Webb.
For those that might not know Morgan got her career started a show call The Screen Savers before X-Play and the gamer fame it carried. Im sure some of you have heard of it. Whats interesting is that in the book "Eagle Semen: The Story of TechTV Employee Number One" one of the members who worked on Screensavers in the 2nd Era after ZDTV said about Morgan, more so a Producer called "Mr. George" and how that led to Webb. I quote
"Mr. George's first order of business(after conscripting the tech heads), was to scour every nook and cranny of the TechTV offices for women. Particularly those with large breasts. We were then asked to set up a camera on the studio during off hours and run these girls through screen tests. I dont remember much about those screen tests. except that there was a lot of line flubbing, more then a little giggling and that Mr. George wanted to make sure that the camera was getting their tits. The girls who could read from a prompter and smile at the same time were given a free pass to pseudo stardom. It was from these sessions that Morgan Webb, Cat Schwartz, and Jessica Corbin got their starts on The Screen Savers."
Morgan was easily the hottest of the Screen Savers group, least in my opinion during the era of 2002. Not to say the other girls werent attractive but Morgan, specially as a blond in those early days as most remember, was the hot one. Thus prolly why she also got picked up when Extended Play got turned into X-Play because well, Kate Botello while a nice lady with a decent voice was not going to draw in the teenage young male demo they were wanting to pull in for that show.
While I can admit Morgan is was more of a gamer and geek then Olivia, and thus easily more likable, she ABSOLUTELY got where she was because of her tits and "bangability". I wouldnt expect Frosk to know this, she prolly was only a fan of G4, not TechTV or G4TechTV. Im not shocked she doesnt know the history of the company that came before or understand that G4 literally had the kind of skeezy programming and use of women that she so claims to not like. Every chick on that channel was made to look hot and attractive, and were picked not for the knowledgeability of the industry but well, because they were hot thin women with tits.
For what its worth to stay on topic, I dont think Adam in the TechTV or ZDTV era was a bastard like he is now, he didnt seem to have a super crazy ego, and prolly at worst was skeezy and perverted. Shit to be honest if he was angry a lot or kind of a cunt about his fans, I can understand that too, he was given the role of hating Final Fantasy when it was the hottest shit, him and Morgan both had idiots on the forums talking mad shit all the time. But I never remember hearing him go off on the forums. Ive never heard bad spoken about Morgan either really. Lord knows they had plenty of fan meetings and chances for bad stories to start but I never had heard hide nor hare. Which I think kind of leads to where it is now, they both prolly got sick of the fans and how annoying it can be to be a celeb, where as Adam grew resentful and alone, Morgan married a super rich author and doesnt have to stay connected to the gaming culture at all, Adam still does to stay relevant.
I knew this revival was bad from the thanksgiving special where they only jerked off on nostalgia and didnt talk about how the Comcast fucked TechTV, all of them, and G4 in general. When their return tag was "We never stopped playing". Thats how this was just a corp trying to cash in nostalgia because if they never stopped playing, explain all the Cops reruns at the end of the channel run. I tuned out after that special and their calling for new talent. I didnt even know they brought X-Play back until this Frosk shit and while I consider everything after the San Fran era to dip in quality with each set revision, even the worst that X-Play ever got, was better then this bullshit. RIP in piss, nothing was lost.
