Judgement Day was better than Xplay btw. You know, the show that existed before the G4/TechTV merger hosted by Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico. I met Tommy at a gaming convention in 2005, good guy, bought myself and multiple other folks burritos.
Adam Sessler on the other hand is a bitter enraged faggot.
Not to derail this thread, I was thinking of this post I made in this thread today and lo and behold it was exactly 2 years ago. Oh how wrong was I two years ago to claim Tommy Tallerico was a "good guy" since I only found out the latter of last year of his intellivision scam and the overwhelming strange oddity of his character as a pathological liar.
Outside of this guys incredibly partisan takes in a section of this video (regarding who Tommy follows on twitter as "white supremacists" like Candice Owens), its well put together. Like damn, talk about a rabbit hole. The more I look back at the peculiar quirks of Tommy on G4 in 2002-04, it really is one of those "holy shit, it all makes sense" moments, really makes me think if Tommy has schizophrenia.
Its weird to think that G4 actually had an anti Japanese bias since they were the ones who first imported Ninja Warrior. I still have that announcers voice stuck in my head.
Specifics program hosts may have not liked Japanese stuff, but the network execs knew their audiences tastes. A good majority of the people on the g4 forums (at least the particular boards I frequented) had anime or Japanese game avatars and/or some custom gif underneath of said japanese game/anime.
G4 was pretty dead to me when they started axing off the OG shows like Filter and G4TV.com. To relate to the the subject here, I watched a lot of Extended Play before being aware of G4's existence. But man, once the G4 version of X-Play was out, I rolled my eyes at every corny sketch joke they used to fill the air of reviews and previews. They did decent TGS and E3 coverage though.
G4TV.com was actually the main board I frequented (each board basically had their own culture) back in the early-mid 2000's and strangely enough was compromised with the admins to leave remaining for years after the show was cancelled for the sake of the community that used it to chat. And less you know about Scot Rubin (one of the main 3 hosts of g4tv.com show), the better btw. He tried to resurrect his old Allgames Network in 2004, and instead of promoting it, he used it as a place to ramble on about conspiracy theories and banning people from the forums for the most petty superfluous reasons.
Portal was another fave of mine since I didn't have the means to play MMOs and was fascinated by the old school games of the era.
Dave was a good dude He was responsible for creating and writing that entire show on top of hosting it. He barely gets credit, but what he did was pioneer work for a concept (machinima) that was still in its infancy. And yeah, he made MMO's look wonderous and created some really funny characters.
I just hope Clown World doesn't jinx this statement.
