Juche is more like the red-headed stepchild of Communist ideology. Most of it (isolation from the world, national self-sufficiency) is a more extreme version of Stalin's "Socialism in one country" idea but that has also fallen out of favor and most modern Communists believe in some amount of worldwide solidarity. It certainly does not help that North Korea is too controversial to defend in the US/Canada/Europe and China dislikes having a competitor to Maoism and now "Xi Jinping Thought".
