I get really sick and tired of radical Leftards making the asinine claim that "Black slaves built America" or otherwise insist that the United States' success was somehow primarily dependent on Blacks being exploited. For one thing, the cotton industry only accounted for a small portion of the economic success of the US, and the cotton industry went into steep decline following the Civil War because abolition made it less economically viable. For another thing, Blacks have always been a minority, and too much of a minority to be a major contributor to the economical success of the US, let alone be SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for it. This nonsense of putting Blacks up on a pedestal, pinning false accomplishments upon them, and ignoring their criminal and uncivilized behavior gets really tiring really fast. And let's say that everything SJWs and Leftards say about Blacks were the truth, it still doesn't excuse them for committing riots or give them license to commit arson. It's shit like this that's responsible for setting race relations back to where they were before the Civil Rights movement.

That's because of the crap that things like "Black History Month" have perpetrated. Yes niggos helped to build this country. So did the Chinese, Italians, Irish, Germans and everybody else that came here and built stuff.

We, as a country, need to get beyond all this race bullshit because it's actually holding us back. Racism will always be a thing. We're never going to get rid of it. But what we can do is accept that shitty things were done to non-white people in the past and move beyond that. Holding onto the past as if it's still the only thing that matters means we can never heal.

I knew a guy back in Tokyo who was a black man in love with the superficial aspects of Japanese society. He literally wanted to be Japanese. And he admitted that all he wanted was reparations in terms of money from the government because of how his ancestors were treated. It wasn't about fixing the past. It wasn't about admitting they were wrong for doing so. It was, "hey! If I can get free money then all is good". If money is the only thing that can salve your soul and make you whole again then it was never an issue to begin with.

He didn't like it when I said that reparations had already been paid in the form of 40 acres and a mule back in 1865. And that if that had been paid to one of his ancestors then he wasn't eligible for it because that debt was paid in 1865. It's not like it applies to every single black person up until the end of time. There's normally a statute of limitations on these things and he'd need to show that his ancestor was not only a slave but didn't receive their 40 acres and nobody else claimed it in their stead. Then, and only then, could a case be made that he was owed anything.

But again it wasn't that this was the only thing that could soothe his tortured soul. He just wanted free money and admitted that this was the case. So it's not like he was hurting because of it. He was just greedy.
