An advocate with a blossoming career influencing public policy was stabbed to death by an unhinged stranger while waiting for a Brooklyn bus early Monday on the way home from a wedding with his girlfriend, police sources said.

Ryan Carson worked as the senior solid waste campaign director at the nonprofit New York Public Interest Research Group. In 2021, separate from his NYPIRG work, he walked 350 miles across New York State to pressure then-governor Andrew Cuomo into legalizing safe drug injection sites throughout New York.

“One of the rising stars in our organization,” said a shaken Blair Horner, executive director of NYPIRG. “Wonderful person, hard-working, loud boisterous laugh. Everybody loved him.”

Carson, 32, spearheaded the 2021 “No OD NY” campaign. The initiative saw Carson and supporters walk from City Hall in Manhattan to Buffalo, with stops in Albany and other cities. He raised more than $20,000 for the campaign through a successful GoFundMe.

“I don’t think it’s at all an exaggeration to say that it’s a big loss for the city,” Ari Farrell, a friend of the victim, said of Carson’s slaying. “Anybody in his personal life will tell you he’s one of the best, the most moral, they’ve ever met.”

Carson cowrote a 2021 Daily News op-ed “New York falters on fentanyl and the opioid crisis,” which accused Cuomo of touting his handling of the COVID epidemic while ignoring the spread of fentanyl throughout the state.

He was waiting with his girlfriend at the B46 bus stop on Malcolm X Blvd. near Lafayette Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant after taking the Long Island Rail back from a wedding when a belligerent stranger started knocking over scooters parked nearby about 3:50 a.m., cops said.

“What are you looking at?” the man snarled at the startled couple before stabbing Carson twice in the chest, according to cops.

Medics rushed Carson to Kings County Hospital but he couldn’t be saved. He was about a mile from his apartment when he was stabbed.

His killer ran off and is on the loose.

Carson was set to turn 32 on Friday and friends were planning a birthday bash.

“There’s a big party on Saturday,” said Bucky Illingworth, 31, Carson’s roommate. “It was gonna be here and then we were gonna go for a hike in a week or two.”

Illingworth described Carson, who was 6-foot-4, as “the friendliest giant ever.”

“Always down to meet new friends, cook, always had a beer for you,” Illingworth added.

Following the fentanyl-related overdose death of a 1-year-old boy at a Bronx day care last month, NYC Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan called the synthetic opioid the most dangerous threat to New Yorkers’ health since COVID.

“I’m passionate about safe injection facilities because I’ve seen family members become addicted to opioids prescribed for pain caused by their occupations,” Carson wrote in the 2021 GoFundMe. “I’ve lost friends and family to the opioid epidemic, including my best friend, who died of a heroin overdose in 2016.”

On Point NYC would later open the first safe injection sites in the country in Washington Heights and East Harlem with the city’s blessing in November 2021. Safe injection sites remain illegal on the state and federal levels.

Carson enjoyed sports and attending concerts with friends.

“He was a huge basketball fan, Celtics fan, Red Sox fan,” Carson’s roommate said. “He loved music. We went to shows together all the time.”

I'm not sure if I would be too "hard" on Claudia about the police lineup thing; it would've been quite dark out even with the lighting from buildings and that happened so quickly. Assuming her body language is from shock, people tend to have poor memory of traumatic events for a while. If that picture lineup I saw in the earlier post is the actual one, I couldn't pick him out either. In the video he looks like he has some afro but in the crying arrest picture he has cornrows.

Not only is there a correlation between criminality and having a low IQ, but people with low IQs also have poor understanding of cause-and-effect. They don't understand thinking towards the future. This is why criminals will seem to do everything in their power to escalate the situation (and tack on more charges) instead of surrendering, like that one guy who chose to use his own infant as a meat shield against cops during a chase. They don't understand that escaping the cops via high speed chase successfully is probably less than 1%. They have zero concept of Action A + Action B = Outcome C.

I've been looking at leftist responses or criticisms to the right wing crab party on Twitter this past week. I've seen maybe 2 articles and one that mentions it as an aside.

You would think they would love to turn the tables back with "evil right wingers mock death of gentle poet' but they really have not. They really do seem to want to avoid this and move on.

My ass. The video showed she was looking directly at him for seconds at a time. She wasn't traumatized enough to wait before making a gofuckme page for that guy's funeral so "everyone can get off work". The more that comes out about this broad's weird decisions and behavior, the more I'm wondering if this was a hit or deliberate to get that guy off'd.

The 'Bullshit' would be incorrect. The reason why eyewitness testimonies aren't in fact 'very useful' (although they may be useful if there are enough eyewitnesses, and a 'overall consensus' can be determined), is because the brain has a nasty little trick of inserting 'whatever the fuck it wants' into the blind spots in our eyes. What our brain determines as 'whatever the fuck it wants' is dependent on previous experiences.

For example (this is very simplified) you are given a picture of half a triangle and asked to fill in the other half. One person may fill in the triangle 'correctly', but is it actually correct when another person fills the other half in with half a circle? The other person may never have seen a triangle before, or in a previous experience seeing similar surroundings, they saw an ice cream cone on it's side, and that is what their brain filled in the blind spot with at that moment in time.

Unfortunately our brains are not infallible, due to things like our eyes blind spots, no matter how perfect you believe your memory is.

I think it was wrong place at the right? time. There is definitely something weird going on with her reaction though.

To me the whole thing plays out this way: Nigger had a fight with girlfriend, went for a walk to 'whatever', got as far as the bike, and couldn't handle what was going on in his brain so he lashed out physically, kicked the bike over which hit another bike? or a car, then still in his 'outburst mode' he also swung at the car. He then turned around and seeing two white people walking towards him said 'what are you looking at?', then that's when he 'faces off' so to speak with bleeding heart lefty, maybe thinking he could intimidate him so he wouldn't get busted for the damage he just caused. Bleeding heart lefty of course couldn't leave it, had to 'sooth the savage beast' be his bestie, fight happens, nigger gets fight or flight, and does both, lefty goes down. Nigger's girlfriend has in the meantime followed him out onto the street to get him (probably reacts this way all the time), sees the fight, doesn't realise the severity of what had happened, says 'I'm sorry' to lefties stunned mullet girlfriend, who then tells nigger's girlfriend to 'go deal with nigger', can't remember exact phrase, it comes out like she's empathising with the black chick, that her boyfriend was in a fight, and of cause it wasn't his fault cause 'we're white'. She then realises that bleeding heart lefty is in fact bleeding, says I'll call 911 or whatever, also in a very strange tone, like she's not affected, then video ends.

Remember, this is a white liberal marxist woman. To her, the nigger was basically a wild animal without any agency, it's the same as if a random cougar had shown up and mauled soyboy. And like any wild animal attack, she recognized on some level that she was in real danger of getting the same treatment, even if she wouldn't admit it if asked. I believe her subdued behavior in the video is the equivalent of a prey animal freezing, she's trying not to call his attention to her.
