The "1%", or people who make millions, contributes over 35% of the federal taxes. (~1% commits 35% of the tax)Most people don't like to admit that "the rich" basically pay over half the taxes in this country.
There is a similar thing that floats around...
Something like 13% commits 50%...
The "upper/middle class", people making 6 figures, pays about half of the taxes. (~40% commits 55% of the tax)
People with under 6 figure incomes, the large majority of america, pay only about 10% of the national taxes. (~60% commits 10% of the tax)
But percentages are hard for the folks who will go in the street and shout "Tax the rich" whilst unemployed.
