It won't work out as well as will be wanted. Basic stuff like facial recognition is easy enough, but if they're planning on using ai for some form of prediction they can't get over how it becomes 'racist'. Deep learning tech can't be corralled like regular programming. We won't get skynet but we'll get a whole lot of nonsense.
On another topic, as others have said, masking and the lockdown especially have and will continue to fuck up a whole two to four years of a generation, and a lot of them when grown up will be a liability. Some will manage to grow up fine. But far too many will not be able to properly communicate or hold down jobs. Among many other issues.

Porn addiction increased during quarantine because lack of outside reward stimuli in the youth. This leads to people becoming trans of a ever deepening fetish pool, or gay. But we were seeing a increase of trans people before covid. Lack of social development is also problem, 2 years without social interaction leaves you quite inept, especially for a developing mind.

Personally, I had to get tagged for the sake of family. Or in this case, access to a hospital during their cancer treatment. Which failed BTW seeing how Big Pharma cares far more about profit than effectiveness. And who is it again that was in charge of "the cure"?
From personal experience, the ones who got tagged honestly believe that they've done the right thing and anyone who tries to sway them from their righteous path is an enemy. I'm witnessing religious fanaticism over something that was overblown by the media of all things. Considering that there is an equal amount of people who personally got burned by this new religious awakening ala Summer of love, there is an equal if not greater amount of people who simply aren't buying this new communion.
And if history shows to what happens when you put two religious fanatics with differing dogmas together in a room, it turns ugly. This is part of the reason why I feel there is a much bigger powder keg now than it was 2 years ago. And trying to sway a religious fanatic from their faith is a tricky problem. And a good chunk of kids have been indoctrinated into this quasi-relgion.

I don't fully agree with kids not being able to socialize like everyone else here is worrying about.
Schools even pre-pandemic were terrible with that as kids normally sat in a room for over 8 hours with no recess anymore forced to study for a while before the outbreak happened.
This might have been better for those over-hyper kids to stay home and have their parents actually have to raise their kids and pay attention to their needs.
Nothing is stopping the parents from recovering their child from any missing socialization by going to the park, playdates with their friend's kids, etc.
The only reason they wouldn't is if the parent is already outright neglectful of their kid and letting only the Ipad raise them; which even without the pandemic was going to lead to those kids being fucked up and not socializing ethier way.
The thing we will have serious repercussions for is the economy and the world they will have to live in due to this mess causing inflation to skyrocket.
College tuition due to everyone being distracted has risen by over 30% in some places so even more kids will be unlikely if already in struggling homes to get a degree.
This is not mentioning the cost of living, clothes, etc being more and more expensive even for regular people.
Don't forget the lovely gas prices just getting way out of control, you won't see that fucker go down for years.

The societal issues we will see elsewhere will just continue to get worse in Asia, especially Japan. I don't know how you could say the modern generation of loner hermits was not caused by the kind of astroturfed autism seen during covid, just on a longer scale. They were wearing the mask years before anyone else. The consequences just combined with other societal ills.

You're either taking someone hating vaxpushers as them hating anyone who got this vax, or you are someone who pushes the vax like it's gospel. Not sure which is worse. For the former, I do not blame most people who got the vax if they legitimately believed it would be functional. Plenty of propaganda that supported that argument. Until it slowly cracked. However, people who push the pseudovax as if it would actually solve the slightly worse flu, without considering the side effects, without considering it doesn't even halfway protect you against covid, suck and I agree with urr that we would be better off without them. That doesn't mean I want to make a vaxlocaust in minecraft, no, just like the politics around covidsperging in general it should have never happened. But it's good the bandaid got ripped off when it did.
