She kinda just said "I didn't want to draw this, but my older boyfriend basically took advantage of my submissiveness caused by abuse and made me do it (but side note: he feels bad about it now!)". I came back to this thread after the DestinytoMoon one blew up and yeah, they basically got the same shtick. Makes sense that after that happened to DtM, Tomato would try and get back in the spotlight by also making this about her, even though her thread had been dead.

Holy shit, I just realized, I know her fiance. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met, we've worked on stuff together and hung out IRL and I will defend that man come hell or high water. He a good boy. He's extremely talented and funny and I can't think of a bad thing to say about him.
... Though it makes sense that he's been contacting me less frequently since they hooked up. Hurm.
He's really not. I could see him being too good of a person and taking blame just to make her feel better, because he's just that type of dude.

I have no idea. I think he might have gotten roped in as a convenient scapegoat because Tumblr antis are so fucking weird about anybody ever having drawn fanart of a character that was ever a minor in a series, even if they're shown as adult later and the art drawn is of them... as adults. Which there is absolutely nothing wrong with and it's bizarre that she feels the need to apologize for it, and then get her boyfriend to also apologize for it because he likes the pairing.
I'm also gonna throw this out there, but her fiance is a very talented, hard-working dude who has a lot of prospects as a voice actor and, though we don't talk as much as we used to, when a project he's worked on is finished, I always get a message from him because he's eager to show it to me, and I'm just happy to see his work because it is good. It's like a happy puppy coming up to you to show off a cool stick it found, except the stick is an animation or a dub that the puppy worked on and this metaphor is falling apart.

Honestly I'm still of the opinion that people should be able to draw whatever the hell they want, that antis will never be satisfied if you try to apologize (and they also don't really care about actual child abuse, which is why you will never see them try and go after somebody like James Terry Mitchell), and hypocrisy is more detestable than somebody being a weird sex pervert, so long as said sex pervert is not hurting anyone. I mostly got mad because I read Tomato as throwing Charley under the bus, but if what I'm told is accurate, she attempted to take the blame fully on herself before Charley insisted on taking some of that blame, because he's just that good a guy, and I am an over-protective friend.
I'm going to bow out here because nothing good ever comes of my personal involvement with somebody that gets a thread. I hope, for Tomato's sake, that she's able to publicly ignore the thread and it'll fizzle out if she does nothing to feed it, which means not acknowledging it publicly any further, and not apologizing to motherfuckers who care more about having power over people than actually protecting real life children. Also, furries will never care about who is trying to deplatform you and will give you money if you draw them shit, and there are definitely furries who would love to have their fursonas drawn like fat anime characters. Just saying.

Yeah, I never got the impression that he was actually a bad person. I was more speaking from the perspective that I assume some reactionary tumblr/twitter users would have since apparently it's not enough for her to just say "I didn't think this through at the time as I was thinking from the perspective of the younger adult and not the older one", but apparently you can't be forgiven of your fictional thought crimes unless some kind of trauma is involved.
And big woops on leaving that Boku no Pico shit up, especially seeing as it seems she still had access to the account it was posted on? Seems like it would be a no brainer to mass delete that shit whenever she went full social justice, but maybe it'll work in her favor that it's the big thing right now to not trust kiwifarms as an accurate source despite it being archived and very obviously her art style from the time.
