I'm of the opinion that a lot of the issues of AI Art generation best fall under "undefined or murky legal waters", though I have noticed this when browsing CivitAI for models:

Jake from Corridor Crew gives a rundown on the class-action lawsuit brought against Stability Ai and the argument of AI art being transformative work, as well as the four factors what courts consider fair use. With all the spergging on both sides, nice to get a more nuanced take (though I'm sure the anti AI art people will try to cancel Corridor Crew).

The existence of “both sides” already pisses me off. Most of the opinions I’ve seen wouldn’t even be worthy of toilet paper. Informed opinions are rare, and measured responses rarer still. There has not yet been a single person who has uttered the phrase “ethical concerns” who actually had ethical concerns. And then many of these “ethicists” calling for copyright strengthening in the same breath? Daddy Disney isn’t paying you in perpetuity for your art any time soon, don’t you worry.
All of this useless fucking litigation about “what is original” or “what is art” will go nowhere because it’s already had its intended chilling effect. Getty is big corporate scum, then will use any mental gymnastics necessary to protect their own interests, even being actively and openly anti-human progress.
Don’t get me wrong, AI Reddit is annoying as shit, full of the most basic of tastes, filtered through the internet’s loser producer; but even they have finally started to criticize their three art styles and five subjects.
But the Anti-AI crowd will never get that level of awareness.
The AI art crowd that shuts the fuck up and just explores what the new tools can do, building models, checkpoints, hyper networks, embeddeding etc… those are the only good people here, who know what the fuck is happening. If you participate in the “discourse” you are less than informed; you are actively misinformed.

You know what else I have noticed?
AI does horror really well. You could argue that the right program does everything well, and maybe. But every so often you run across an AI image that comes as close as possible to emulating a real nightmare you may have, or matching up to the exact shapes and lines that compose the thing that you personally imagine to be the most terrifying image possible.
A funny thing happens when you look at such an image enough times: it stops being spooky. Maybe that is the point of why fear can feel so fun sometimes...you're supposed to discover as many possible combinations of shapes, lines, ideas, or concepts as you can and familiarize yourself with them, so that at the end of it all you aren't afraid of anything anymore.

The same thing will happen to ChatGPT that happened to stuff like Google or Youtube search. They used to be really good at helping you find what you want and have become completely unusable, unless you want a specific Wikipedia article or are looking to buy something from amzon.
They will cripple it and bow to sensibilities until it's mostly useless.
The only AI programs that will be worth a damn will be the open source ones.
Most artists suck at anatomy, proportions and the general understanding of shapes and let's not even talk about mastering composition.
I see so many artists that only look for updoots with nicely rendered digital paintings on artstation, even among so called professionals and don't care to get decent at the fundamentals of art, which are proportion, anatomy, shapes and space.
Which is extremely funny since the AI is excellent at shading/rendering.

Da. Vomiting various computer lighting effects or photography lighting techniques into the front part of your prompt get's you nice looking shit.
