AI Art Seething General

If he has to tell other people he’s better than his colleague, this hapless redditor is probably not. Does midjourney not have img2img? He doesn’t have to start from prompt alone.
Confidence in one's art does not equal lack of skill. He's a faggot for continuing to stay at that job despite his disapproval of 'AI stealing artists' work' lol. People claim to have morals but don't do anything to stand by those morals. Weak people. If he truly cared, he would leave his job.

Seething (and anti-seething)

There have been more and more artists wishing for even more copyright law to own the AI bros and prevent their art from being "stolen", unaware that any expansion to copyright law will only fuck themselves in the ass.

"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help".

I see no way that any sort of government action at the current time could ever turn out well.

And I bet if you went through the portfolio of these motherfuckers you'd find outright tracing of shit from Google Image Search in damn near every one of them.

A.I. ART IS SO FUCKING COOL!!! I have no sympathy or compassion about anyone except for myself, I do not give a single fuck about the artistic political drama or whatever about the ethics of A.I. art, I don't care about plagiarism or people losing their jobs bohoho cry my a river. As long as I get to create Waluigi x Fluttershy fanfiction with a single press of a button than it's a fucking win for me 💪

You're not owed sympathy, compassion, or a job, sneeder.

So I was having an argument about AI art and while I can sympathize with artists feeling concerned about the future of their work they are such entitled faggots that it almost makes me want them to get fucked.

The way I look at it, if AI art can help you achieve your dream of creating something you've always wanted to make, then there is nothing wrong with you fulfilling your dream by using it. I asked "What if you can't afford to pay an artist?" And they said "Then you wait until you fucking can or you don't get to make your shit."

Maybe I'm just being autistic but that rubbed me the wrong way. I told them they aren't entitled to my money the same way I'm not entitled to their art and got told I was being an asshole.

You know, as a programmer, I have no issues if an artist wants to make a game but struggles with coding, either because of a lack of time or genuinely struggling with the practice, and resorts to AI. Hell, I wouldn't mind it if they made money off of it. By that logic, I really don't feel any guilt about potentially using AI art assets for my own project.

I see so many people guilt others into not using AI art, but frankly, the tech provides mutual benefit for anyone as of now since much of the tech is open source. On the other hand, the artists trying to push to regulate the training data are actively ruining this mutual benefit.

If someone is choosing to use AI over commissioning you they were never your target audience to begin with. Also, if your art is so generic an AI can spit it out and people will overlook the polydactyly, that's a you problem.
AI art issues that are common now will be scarce in 2-3 years. It can copy the art style of any artist you have samples for. And there is a demographic of cheapasses who would have reluctantly paid for commissions, but will use the AI or pay someone else (less) to use the AI.

I've never seen AI put out something clean that looks like this, it relies on hyper detail to cover up the weird smudges and whorls, and thus a simpler style actually highights AI's shortcomings—ironically, it can't emulate simplified art, at least as far as I'm aware (feel free to prove me wrong). If you're commissioning an artist it's because they have a je ne sais quois the other lack whether that be context or style, and frankly there's an overabundance of artists who do the stuff AI draws the heaviest from.
