AI Art Seething General

"AI" (machine learning) image generation and generative content as a whole is both a valuable tool and something that is rapidly contributing to the enshittification of the Internet. Search engines like Google have become completely unusable due to the sheer amount of SEO and content farm spam that existed even before tools like ChatGPT. Everything will soon just become noise, disconnected from any form of human input.

At the same time machine learning has practical uses. With regards to art, people seem to have a misconception that art itself is some type of magical process and relies solely on human creativity. They believe each stroke of the brush on the canvas or mark of the pencil is some type of highly thought out action. It's not. Art is a iterative and mechanical process 60% of the time. Anyone can tell you this. The people who complain about AI image generation likely are nowhere near the experience level they need to be to understand this. Machine Learning can augment the artistic process and be a visual aid just like a reference or a lay figure is.

But as a total replacement to art and artists, AI image generation will never come close. It has valid use cases in niche instances, like for generating stock photos, but it can't, and shouldn't ever be a total replacement. Corporations will try but the end result will be everything looking like shit.

Guess what - it does. All skill and half creativity pour out undigestible normgroid e-sewage slop.

Shitter users realized that the Mr. Chedda meme was AI generated, so they made a cleaner "ethically correct" version instead. Also, the person who generated the image is pissed off because people have been selling Mr. Chedda merch this whole time, and he hasn't earned a cent. Shitter users, like the hypocrites they are, are against copyright for this situation specifically.

Isn't the reason people are having a hissy over AI is because people who make AI generation don't give a shit about royalties and allows anyone to use their post which eats into other artists profits?

There's something really, really funny about people who are so desperately against AI generation in anything just being completely unable to tell something is AI unless it's made with Midjourney or one of the popular Civit checkpoints. Because I'm not fucking blind, Chedda was pretty obviously AI to me immediately and I was flabbergasted when these tards suddenly flipped on it because they only just realized months later the "AI devil" they're so afraid of created it.
Especially since it's supposed to be so obvious when something is AI generated. Boy, wouldn't it be nutty if there was already a ton of AI generated content in the media you consume from various outlets, and you just have no idea? Man, that'd be crazy, wouldn't it? Good thing you can always tell, right?

Ironically these seethers are the very people who insist you can't tell a troon on sight.

Two things:
  1. They are throwing out the Wacom tablets they already have purchased; money that already is in Wacom's account.
  2. Instead of buying from a Japanese company that may or may not have used AI-generated art in one of their ads, they are instead going to buy from a totalitarian shithole that allegedly puts Uighurs in concentration camps. True paragons of virtue and not at all deranged.

They're also not going to buy from HUION because HUION gives AI art courses.
Here's what they will use instead:

China is one of the countries that are pushing for AI tech hard.

The person who made the 'ethically correct' image better have paid for the rights to use the images used in that picture, otherwise they did the same thing as the ai model, only with less sophistication.
