Main thing is that the bulk of code out there is fucking atrocious by a wide margin. GPT is mostly trained on snippets from StackOverflow and reddit, and it suffers for it. Beyond that, the level of thought involved in software development is at least for now not achievable to a model. Keeping track of state, API, concurrency, all of these things beyond simple university level problems stump most people let alone computers.

This technology is progressing at such a rapid rate that soon everyone will be able to create their own music, movies, etc. We'll see a massive shift towards personalized content unique to each viewer. The opportunity for someone who isn't already established as an artist to create a new story/film/drawing and get the gratification of it being seen and appreciated by thousands of people is rapidly, rapidly closing. Obviously nothing precludes someone from making art for arts sake, but I imagine there is a certain kind of spiritual fulfillment and satisfaction of having your work become popular and appreciated by thousands of others across the world - and that opportunity will be effectively gone soon.

My friend, just make it, put it out there and if people like it, it will be seen. I have been shitty about my writing and haven't update anything in years and still this month people are reading my work. You are the only thing standing in your way.

There's a moment of lucidity in there though where the interviewer brings up Palworld and Hogwarts Legacy and how consumers literally do not care and that was really funny to see him try and reason with how horribly unimportant his opinion is. It ends with some sad cope that It Still Looks Samey and Won't Get More Betterer™ but again there's a flash of lucidity and awareness where he admits it could be used as a tool and it won't eat every artist job ever (and then immediately flips on it and goes doomer again).

God damn this interviewer is terrible. He's just kind of a dope and sucks up to the guy the entire time; he mentions how he thinks ChatGPT maybe isn't Adolf Hitler digitally reincarnated and then immediately shrinks back with a "y-yes..." when he's told by this person he wants to build a potential business connection with disagrees with him. I'm aware it's an interview and not a debate, but he just comes off as impotent because he just immediately becomes convinced and bends the knee. I'm not even asking for confrontation, it just comes off as really pathetic and sycophantic. Sad! Many such cases!

Tips on generating simplicity with AI images? I'm attempting simple still life arrangements for painting exercises, and the AI methodology seems to be MORE is MORE. So annoying.

The thing is, current ai is still pretty stupid context wise. Dalle-3 was a shocking improvement when it dropped for free on bing, because it incorporated LLMs to allow it to parse what you're asking it with much higher understanding, but even then there's only so far it'll "get" what you're saying, and then there's the censors. Getting exactly what you want detail wise is always a rope-walking balance, and if you *really* want to fine tune your shit, open source like stable diffusion is the only way, but it takes a long while to understand what's really going on with every little setting.

The very foundation of art is built upon "theft", nothing is original and everything is built upon something and changed up bit by bit, it's why a common art tip is to not worry about making an original art style because no one is truly original but i guess these people forgot that, also come back to me about theft being a serious issue when every nsfw artist using intellectual property they don't own and making money off of it behind paywalls closes their shit and then we'll talk
