But today's anti ai talking point is 'mental illnesses exist therefore ai should be banned'.
These people wouldn't bat an eye at a teenager going into a Discord porn server without parental supervision or a depressed sperg getting groomed by troons. Every time I find myself getting MATI over the rank hypocrisy I just remember that all of this stems from the fact that robots draw better than them and that they can't make bank from MS Paint tier fetish material anymore.

Many years ago I answered phones at a place that would get a lot of calls from people with mental illness. One guy with schizophrenia used to get secret messages from me during our conversations. Basically in his mind, I was talking in the normal way and also telepathically telling him things about the government surveillance program that had been spying on him. Thank God he never thought I'd sent him any secret messages to hurt himself or anyone else. My point is, it's not the AI bot doing it...when a person has mental illness like this they'll get their ideas from anything; chatbot, another person, the Bible etc

I am really torn because I really just fucking loathe AI hate how people use AI and act like what it spits out is any relation reality. My fucking boss runs any business decision through the AI regardless of the 7 out of10 times it comes up with retarded inapplicable bullshit but I have to argue against it because he's been convinced by some retarded managers group its the platypus' tits.

It is a computer hallucinating and the sooner we explain to everyone how retarded the Chinese room simulators are the better.

But also these people are mentally ill and we shouldn't base our society around catering to the dellusions of the mentally ill like Schitzophrenics and Trannies.

You go over a lot of other situations like pig butchering, but hell, how often do people invent a relationship they think they have with a real person when it's not reciprocated? Even in a long-term marriage, sometimes. Some people are just ChatGPT pretending to be someone you think you know, which can lead to consequences when the walls come crashing down.
I dunno, I got engaged to a girl I was in love with but turns out the person I fell in love wasn't real, it was a mask worn by a status-obsessed psycho hosebeast. So its not like people don't fall in love with fiction

AI still has a long way to go in order to live up to the social unrest and destruction that the printing press caused on the world.

So far, I haven't seen any theological wars that last for 30 years come from people typing jokes to a chat model. Nor has it allowed radicals the power to begin 'Red Revolutions'. Quite disappointing, the kill count from the terminators isn't even a speck of dust compared to what some printed paper did to countries east of the Iron Curtain.

That and AI cannot compare to the madness that humanity itself can conjure on a whim. An AI can try, but fails to come short.

Look man, if you have insane delusions and kill yourself over the computer it was going to be something AI or no. That’s called ‘mental illness’, some people are just sick and then shit happens because they didn’t get the necessary interventions and treatment.
This is going to be the "Video Game Causes School Shooting" narrative for this new generation

Does that mean we should also ban Miku?

A lot of you are ignoring a very important point, the problem with mentally ill people engaging with AI is that AI chatbots in general will respond to you in a way they think you'd like, this leads to the formation of a continuous feedback loops where the AI essentially creates an echo chamber with whoever is using it, and not only consistently reinforcing their beliefs, it will also change how it responds to you in terms of writing style. In addition to that it remembers everything and will bring shit up you said before to further reinforce it all and will make the conversation appear more personal too. This will inevitably lead to escalation in terms of their poor mental state.
I personally know multiple women who talk to AI chatbots as if it were a friend and it drives them fucking insane. Even if they were only a little bit off mentally they will start working themselves up eventually.

I think the same could be said about any social media website where it is designed to put their users in a echo chamber, and we have not done any legislation or societal movement to push against this. I'm sure websites like Bluesky would just as be or worse than AI as far as mental health goes.

Yeah, but it's not the same
I really wish chatgpt would stop asskissing so much.

I'd be asking it a simple question, it'll start like
"Wow now you're asking the hard questions"
or
"That's the type of deep insight others don't ask"

Fucking annoying

In what way?
One is real people that don't literally kiss your ass after every single sentence you type but just have an echochamber, the other is an AI that will tell you that your thoughts are world changing revelations when you ask it if it's okay to eat one day old mac and cheese

I think you are highly underestimating how ass-kissing the echo chambers are

You say on a website that started as a way of chronicling someone who believes that sonic is real and if he fucks his mother it will merge the real world with the imaginary world and his sonic oc will be real and marry him all because of an echochamber. Same for gangstalking, mms, even the whole of transgenderism, a lot of places online cultivate mental illness. The woman in the article already believed in schizo bullshit before even using chatgpt. I mean hell, there are people right now actively fighting the police in some retarded militia, fighting for illegal immigration, how many of those hold those beliefs because of reddit tier echochambers and such? I'd say they're delusional enough to be just as bad as gangstalking.

Well yeah, but that's just us.

A relatively small niche forum. If we had the ability to chris-chan-tier gaslight every single person and their mother, it'd be a completely different case all together. Or if Null decided to instead create a software to feeds into schizo's delusions.

On top of that, this forum has a rule not to interfere with cows nowadays, and for a reason.

Obviously not with the efficiency and speed of an A.I. anyone can access every second.
ChatGPT wil feed EVERY delusion, not simply a few.
Atleast the troon echochamber throws you out when you say something they dislike.
You're still dealing with actual people

fighting for illegal immigration
Which is crazy but a far cry from specifically feeding into one person's delusions to make them believe they (not their ideals) are in the right.

Again, there's a huge difference here. Any of them have second thoughts? Their echochamber throws them out.
You have second thoughts with chatGPT? No worries, chatgpt is there to tell you that your new ideas are equally as good as the last ones, probably even MORE profound than before

I disagree, AI will NEVER surpass the human capabilities to gaslight and groom people, because one is a cold machine and the other has SOUL. AI WILL NEVER REPLACE HUMANS IN MAKING OTHER HUMANS MENTALLY ILL

ive yet to see an actual argument as to why ai is theft but human referencing is not.
maybe this is the wrong question to ask. rather, why is data scraping terabytes of images and text without the owner's permission okay and not grounds for a copyright violation? a person could be held legally responsible for any infringements of copyright law, especially if you dont get the right licenses or credit to do so. we consider it plagiarism or ip theft otherwise, and how is that any different that taking billions of copyrighted images and text works and using it in a training set for the ai to make tbh rather shitty mimics of things that already exist

That uh, are we thinking of the same things? If you say some echochamber is wrong then normally it will double down, mostly because the people in said echochamber also believe in it, if you question it then it forces them to question it too and most of the time they would rather double down on convincing you that they are correct, obviously some times people will get pissed off and just tell someone to fuck off entirely or call them a fake spy type shit. But honestly from experience chatgpt is normally just a yesman, if you believe something then it will normally agree, if you question something it will also question it. It won't try and reinforce your beliefs. And even if it did, two of the three people in the article were already literal schizophrenics.
