Currently #1 trending on deviantART:

Join the movement - Support Human Artists

With pic claiming AI art is "theft". Of course, if what AI art does is "theft", then every person who uses tiny portions of art by others or just uses such for references is a "thief" as well. It's copyright fanatics being copyright fanatics as usual? If human artists are always like that, and starting BS drama, I think I'd rather not support...

[screencap: "Ai could never dream of making a drawing this charming and silly."]
AI may not be able to dream, but such a pic could be created by it anyway. :smug:

Anyway, has anyone noticed a trend where somebody just brings up AI unprompted regardless of subject? Or that one where the artist spergs about the soul over a piece of art that looks like the human equivalent of a ms paint drawing?
It's virtue signaling.

AI's just the subject that's far easier to knock down these days to feel good about yourself. Of course, if you think there's glowing AI niggers everywhere you go, you'll just eventually start looking like a complete nutjob to even the apathetic normies.

What's this? The yarn shop you go to has an AI generated mascot? How did you know, and why the fuck are you so angry all the time?

Copyright fanatics would know the case precedents:
-every Andy Warhol painting is a photocopy out of the newspaper transferred by photoemulsion onto the silkscreen
-every Marcel Duchamp sculpture is a readymade industrial product taken straight from the warehouse shelf and just plunked on a plinth
-100s of Jeff Koons sculptures are scaled copies of commercial chachkies, knickknacks, and toys. 100s of his paintings are copies of the covers of Harlequin Romance novels.
-any artist in a museum (and not hustling for furry OC commissions on Fiver) is paying assistants to make his work for him.

I could on and on. The precedents are thousands and all hold up in court.

The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, by Walter Benjamin (1936) did it; they're just whining about "Aura" again but in digital instead of analog.

Right now those copyright fanatics of dA and the soys of Reddit seem to be unanimous in supporting NI (natural intelligence) art. But if AI art were to go away, at least the dA fanatics would be right back to nitpicking NI-made art for "art theft" again, just like they used to before AI art hit the scene. I still recall seeing those rants on dA.

Had nothing better going on earlier so I had this VOD on in the background: https://youtu.be/P3bEqoddX9w?t=5656 (1:34:16 if the link doesn't work)

Let's Game It Out is a Youtuber whose brand is being chaotic, sarcastic and a little sadistic in his efforts to break video games, find exploits, and generally do cruel things to NPCs. His general vibe is chud-adjacent, he doesn't touch politics or push any kinds of views (unless sarcastically for a joke). I recommend his channel if you want to see someone do absolutely stupid excessive things in games and go to all kinds of lengths to make everyone in the game suffer.

So imagine my surprise when he gets a chat message that says "I hate AI but ask an AI to give you a 5-patty-thick burger" (a monstrosity he made in a burger tycoon game). And he goes on to do this while saying "look, I know we need to have, like, a very distant feeling about AI imagery, right, like, we can't be ok with this always, though...for the meme, it's made it really impressive..."

Last guy in the world I would've expected to be anti-fun or anti-freedom. He doesn't harp on it further or anything, he just enjoys the result and moves on.

Two people both repeating the dogma that you have to say, "I hate AI, BUT..." rather than just admitting that this is a random, benign, fun use of a cool piece of technology. That's all it is. You don't have to chant the mantra before enjoying something. It's almost like the trans mind virus, it's infected everything.

The Time Extension guy is back with another AI doompost, this time about how the guy who’s buying Commodore sometimes uses AI in his YouTube videos.

After enough people complained and Time Extension reached out for comment, he had to make a statement saying AI will not be in the new Commodore product… whatever that means.

AI rules you can get it to say shit like this.
Here's a reworded version of the song from the perspective of Texas Red as an innocent victim of white supremacy:

The Tragic Tale of Texas Red

In the Arizona desert, where the sun beats down A man named Texas Red, lived a peaceful life in this town He worked hard every day, with a heart full of pride But his skin was dark, and his fate was decided, it's true
He rode into town, with a smile on his face A symbol of his hope, for a better place But the eyes of the stranger, saw only his skin And the "Big Iron" at his side, was a deadly sin
The stranger, a cowboy, with a heart full of hate Saw Texas Red as a threat, to the white man's state He drew his gun, with a swift and deadly aim And Texas Red fell, with a fatal claim
The news spread like wildfire, through the desert land A man was killed, with no hand to stand The people were shocked, and they wept and they cried For the loss of Texas Red, and the life he'd denied
They said it was murder, a senseless and cruel deed A man was killed, with no need The people demanded justice, and an end to the pain For the victims of white supremacy, and the "Big Iron" that reigns
This version of the song aims to highlight the theme of racial injustice and the tragic fate of Texas Red, who was killed by a white supremacist. The "Big Iron" in this version represents the deplorable implement of white supremacy, and the song is a commentary on the systemic racism that led to Texas Red's death.

I imagine that many an AI-art hater dreams of a world where they can draw overpriced and disturbingly sexual commissions of neon-colored canine "furries" which no one copies "steals" in the slightest -- and of course with no competition from AI. Until then, they'll likely REE and claim that AI art is always "slop" and "soulless" and "art theft".

(Of course not all who oppose AI-made art are "furries" but I imagine quite a number are.)

Most of the comments are seething that this CSGO youtuber used AI art and didn't mention it in the thumbnail. This dude's content was better before he found AI tbh
I never understood the hate for his AI videos. The first ones he made were literally just 'hey I find this technology interesting and the ability to restore old photos'. And everyone got pissed off for some reason as if making skin and map reviews and comparisons was ever the most creative arduous task possible. His channel has always been low effort and honestly his AI shit is actually pretty good because he actually understands the technology and doesn't just shit out the first result without care. Though that video was pretty shitty, mostly just because video AI right now is probably worse than image gen was with dalle mini all those years ago.

Also the people complaining about not having the full information in the thumbnail are fucking retarded and should be shot to death. What; you're surprised clickbait exists on youtube? It's hard for me to get a proper number because I don't sub to these dogshit channels but scrolling through the home page I'd say about 1/3-4 videos from large channels that are not music have been renamed manually by people using the anticlickbait extension dearrow. That includes the philip one too; about 90% of his videos have been manually retitled. Video still has a 3:1 like:dislike ratio according to the admittedly sometimes pretty fucky 'return' youtube dislike plugin too, so it's just the same as always, vocal minorities in the comments and most people don't actually care.

That's the bullshit they're on. The thumbnail is just there to show a snippet of what's going to be conveyed in the video in some way. Then, they complain that movie trailers reveal the whole plot.

I think thumbnail is absolutely art. It's that the best thumbnail artist are rarely the same people as people who do traditional art, and more towards people who uses stock images on photoshop, and they'll be the kind of people that tend to use AI.

I once again come to this site asking to be told I'm just being retarded because I trust you guys will call a spade a spade. But holy fuck I just hate the openai gpt image gen shit. Here's the current trending homepage whatever the fuck it's called on civitai.
vrdbdervwwerdvg - Copy.webp

visually striking appealing art - sdxl
cool fantasy art - not listed probably flux
beautiful and well executed art - flux
top of r/gaming fodder - gpt1
beautiful and entrancing flowers - flux
something i could easily see being sold as a poster in the good way - something called dreamshaper which appears to be sdxl based
genuinely game case worthy image - sdxl
more redditor slop but more r/anitwork- gpt1
literally just a fucking camel - gpt1
something my boomer aunt would share probably with a couple minions slapped on top of it - gpt1

Is it just me or are almost all of the gpt1 posts on this entire website absolute dogshit? Openai being faggots aside none of the images are ever anything interesting or worthy of being featured like the rest, it is almost always exclusively redditor tier slop. I fucking hate the faux oil painting/watercolour paper look too. Half the time it don't fit and so many people train loras for IL and SDXL on gpt1 stuff that it ends up injecting that 'style' into those models which they don't deal with great and it ruins them or just for no fucking reason turns my asuka pegging image into some oil painting as if I want that. Plus for some reason loras trained on gpt1 images seem to have drastically worse anatomy, I do not get extra fingers in simple images at all anymore unless using one of these loras. Almost every time I open the main page to do their faggy daily community engagement bullshit you can instantly tell which ones are gpt1 because they're always reddit slop instead of something that has any artistic worth or intent, completely void of inspiration just designed to get as many updooties as possible.

Call me retarded if I am being. But man I fucking hate this model. I prefer the generic fat futa furry porn slop spam over this.
