This is a thought I have been having lately as I have seen the proliferation of AI generated art. Everything from cheap little film clips, to full own movie scripts, comics, and paintings. Now, despite what the doomsayers are claiming, the AI is not ACTUALLY doing any of this from whole cloth. There is still a very human brain working in the background giving instructions and tweaking the inputs to get what the Human Brain wants. The AI is simply a very, VERY powerful tool. Like a magic paintbrush that allows anyone to paint like a master. Or Satan's tooth from Jack Blacks "Pick of Destiny".
So no, I don't think AI "generated" Art is going to replace human creativity any time soon. What it will do however is make it so anyone can engage in creative projects. From painting to making movies. I see the inevitable end state within the next few years where some weeb will come out with an AI Tool that will essentially allow for the creation of an entire Anime episode based solely upon inputs and manually entered text. Ditto for any sort of 3D Render animation, given sufficient computing power and autism. The absolute tidle wave of AI generated porn (which has already begun) will also make it far easier for degenerate shit to spread as the final gatekeeping to such things (actual artistic ability) is broken and any depraved shizo can make his own hentai novel involving pooping back and forth.
It all paints a very grim picture. We are already as a society culturally siloed to an extreme degree, but there is still, for now, some generalized shared social and cultural cohesion within the groups and between the groups. AI Art however will absolutely obliterate what remains, making the Silo's even smaller. Add in the rising ability of VR technology and its conceivable we could eventually enter a "pod person" scenario, where people will live in cultural worlds solely of their own creation and mind, surrounded by life affirming AI NPC's pretending to be their friends.
Kiwi's, the Industrial Revolution and its Consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
