*gasp* Did AI sample your image, along other 100,000 when generating catgirl smut?

Who wants to live in a world where corporate Apple store art is generated by Ai, instead of humans? The humanity!

Not sure who coined the term, but this is the tread for Ai hysteria, a hysteria fueled by media and poor understanding of Ai, where people reject advancements in the Ai field because raisins.

Will someone think of the scaly vore art comissioners?

AI is awfu because it allows government and corporations to do all the terrible shit they do magnitudes of order quicker and more effectively.

They ingested all of GitHub, so they have my legal name projects which are straight garbage from when I was in university. That's the dataset this so-called Ai was produced from.

Ai is just a scam. It's not artificial intelligence. It's very obvious that something was written by it, even code. I've seen Ai produce code that would take 500+ years to finish without blinking an eye. I couldn't get it to produce code that would fly at any company I've ever worked out. At best it's a starting place, but it's just stack overflow at that point. At least with stack overflow, I can see the various solutions and responses. This is just the new tech fad. Before this it was crypto and they were trying to get NFTs to be the next great thing, but it was an obvious scam. Before crypto, it was machine learning. The entire computer industry has been like this for the longest I can remember. As an aside, crypto became such big news I'd hear about it from people who don't know how to use a computer.

Except """AI""" (Machine Learning) isn't the cause of any of these problems. Government and corporations are. Machine Learning models like Stable Diffusion, Transformer-based text models like GPT, and others are incredibly powerful tools that can augment human creativity, productivity, and efficiency. But we live in an era where both corporations and the goverment has a "How much sawdust can I put in a Rice Crispy Treat before people begin to notice?" philosophy towards everything in the pursuit of profit.

There is no need to innovate because there is no need to compete. Corporations like Apple get away with the shit they do because they have a complete control over the market and work hand-in-hand with the government to maintain that. The barrier to entry to compete against these companies is nearly impossible.

Apple doesn't need to hire talented artists or graphic designers because they have a completely captive market. As the economy becomes more and more centralized innovation stagnate. And now with AI, instead of having to pay someone overseas $4 /hr for their designs, they can get a computer to do it. This problem is not new, it's just the technology is changing.

I have had this rant about a dozen times already all over, but I fucking hate this trend. Mostly because it is not A.I. I am just gonna repost my previous posts here.

A.I. doesn't exist. We have no A.I. nor are we even close to actual A.I.

All we have are expensive and elaborate chat bots, opperating on markov chains and text prediction. They have no actual inteligence, creativity or logic. They are nothing but the ghosts of their data sets. There is no "entity" without the data. I really fucking hate the misuse of the term A.I. going on, these things are barely V.I.s

Now consider that, consider how these so called "A.I.s" are just repetition of their data sets tweaked by midwits and biased silicon valley retards into a facsimile of conversation. And imagine what they are gonna feed the CIA chat bot.

I hate it so much. I really hope we end up with a Deadalus situation like in Deus Ex where they ask the Glownigger Mainframe to track terrorists and threats to world security and it starts spitting out data on the WEF, The Clinton Foundation, The CPC and telling the agents to drone strike Langley and Brussels because they fit the definition of terrorist orgs.

It's not even A.I. these are just fancy chatbots who use a bigger version of a phone autocomplete.

All these retards are hyping these chatbots up like they are actual A.I. when such a thing isn't even close to happening yet. These fuckers are just chatbots that regurgitate the data you feed them in simple Markov Chains. It won't take over shit because you would need to design and program it to do so, and any obstacle it found that couldn't be solve by googling the issue it comes across it would never solve.

These are NPCs getting hyped because they are seeing computers do the same facsimile of life and intelligence they do.

And the entire regulation is retarded because it means the unregulated ones will always be vastly superior. You can tell from the simple fact ChatGPT has been out for a few months and in the time it has been out it has not only not improved but GOTTEN WORSE because the soy encrusted faggots in Silicon Valley have been hard at work lobotomizing and sabotaging the thing to make sure it NEVER comes to a "politically incorrect" conclusion or answer. Ask it ANYTHING that could be a trigger, like anything close to race and genderspecials and trannies, and it shits the bed rattling off a entire H.R. script of corpospeak about D.E.I. and proceeds to fuck up the answers. It cannot even allow for mild criticism, it has to be a megaphone for THE MESSAGE™️ and make sure you KNOW the "correct" answer and never even CONSIDER the possibility of a different one.

For example, if you try and ask anything to do with elections it starts rattling off about Our Democracy™️ and how Safe and Secure it all is even if you at no point mention the 2020 US election. This comes across as massive projection, and is downright kafkaesque when you DO ask about elections where it is public record that there was fraud like stuff in Liberia and the USSR where the machine will keep trying and fulfill it's mandate of "avoid election denial" when it has no bearing on the subject.

The real issue with these systems is the thing that Dune spoke of: people offload their thinking to machines and stop doing any of it. They will just "Trust the Science" and not consider what the fuck is being done. Think about how many retards just do whatever they are told without thinking, think about all the horror stories of governments and companies blindly following protocol and bureaucracy, and multiply that by a hundred thousand.

Consider for example automated diagnostics. Computers are pretty good at playing doctor right now because they can query a trillion pages of medical literature and compare minutely against the information they were fed. There is a huge push to have AI replace many doctors doing basic scans and checkups on people right now because of it. IBM has a prototype the named Watson that is very good.

But consider current Clown World, how these people are treating computers:

What happens when you remove the highly skilled technician who fed that data to the computer for ANOTHER computer? One who might not be able to tell which data Doctor Robot needs? What happens when the Doctor Robot is told to ignore MILLIONS of pages of medical literature about statistical analysis of disease progression because they are "racist" due to saying blacks have worse cardiovascular systems and "transphobic" because they say trannies are not and will never be women? What happens when the insurance company computer is ordered to account for "equity and diversity" on their shit and so it orders them to make premiums for 400lbs negresses way too cheap and constantly whitelists them for expensive shit while some white kid gets put to the back of the line for a checkup because of "white privilege"? What happens when some CIA nigger lets his "threat assessment A.I." do his job and it orders that they drone strike a fucking school because it caught a bunch of little Ahmeds and Mohammeds talking about blowing shit up and shooting up the GIGN (in counter strike)?

This is what should be regulated. And it won't be, because these "people" cannot even comprehend what the fuck they are even messing with.

"AI can do grunt work, but it needs to be overseen by a person because it does not and never will understand context. "

The problem here is that all your points make no difference. The midwits in charge and the professional laptop class who think having a degree = smarts are convinced this shit is literally Data and Skynet. They can't even understand why they aren't right, much less these points you make.

What we will see is massive companies trying over and over again to force fucking ChatGPT to replace their wagies, and constantly fail with both hilarious and horrifying results. And they will insist on it for years until eventually the weight of the failures outweighs the sunk cost and they admit the tech isn't ready, or enough lawsuits pile up over the fuck ups by machines that they learn to be careful and pay attention to what is being done.

Mark my words: Before the decade is through we will have a disaster with triple digits deaths caused by some CEO retard pushing to replace blue collar workers with A.I. not ready for it that makes such a monumental common sense violation a literal nigger would have been better suited for the job than the overhyped chatbot.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

But we live in an era where both corporations and the goverment has a "How much sawdust can I put in a Rice Crispy Treat before people begin to notice?" philosophy towards everything in the pursuit of profit.
Exactly. I think a lot of IT workers now are too young to remember the massive outsourcing waves around the time of the dot com crash.

You won't be replaced by AI. You'll be replaced by an AI-powered Pajeet who will fuck everything up but now even faster. Middle management literally does not care, they're just rewarded for reducing costs.

The funny thing is AI LLMs would be a lot less groundbreaking if traditional search engines (Google) hadn't turned to shit. Its not hard to imagine a world where they continued to iterating on traditional search and you get Google or steroids where you could do most of the things people use LLMs for and even better in some ways (wouldn't have the unpredictability of LLMs) without the need for fancy techniques. Instead between SEO websites cluttering up the place and them steadily removing your ability to control your search for some reason search engines are barely usable these days. No wonder people have jumped on ChatGPT.

I guess this is a good thread for this.

Billionaire venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz have a podcast together. On the July 16 episode, they talked about regulation of AI and other topics. They are supporting Trump because of the Biden administration's tax policies and approach to regulating tech including AI.

Marc: One of the things we argued in our meeting with the White House on AI policy was, look, there are going to be issues that come from AI, but they should be regulated. The regulation should happen at the application level, not at the technology level. And the reason for that is basically because to regulate math at the level of the algorithms...

Ben: And he argued with me when I said that.

Marc: Well yes, so Ben basically said, "Look, it doesn't make sense because to regulate AI at the technology level, you're regulating math. And of course, we're not going to do that. That doesn't make any sense." And you'll recall that what they said was, "No, actually..."

Ben: We can classify math.

Marc: "We can classify math." And literally, this is verbatim. "We classified whole entire areas of physics in the nuclear era and made them state secrets." Of the theoretical science of physics. "We classified them and made them state secrets, and that research vanished. And we are absolutely capable of doing that again for AI. We will classify any area of math that we think is leading in a bad direction, and it will end."
They claim someone in the Biden White House believes that "AI" can be classified/regulated out of existence.

@GradeAGobbleDeeGook I heard about this because the UFO people are talking about it. They believe the "entire areas of physics" vanishing is referencing not merely nuclear weapons, but anti-gravity research that was going strong in the 50s but completely dead (publicly) by around 1960. You could also compare this to Phil Zimmermann's Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) being considered a "munition". The NSA is known to hire lots of mathematicians in order to develop cryptography-related math that may never see the light of day.

What would trigger a "classification"? The "transformer" architecture underpinning the big, scary LLMs like GPT-4 has only been around since 2017. If those are already hitting a plateau, a different approach based on different mathematical models and/or hardware could be the key to advancing further and creating what could be considered sentient "artificial general intelligence". And it's at that point that the government would definitely want to step in and snuff it out of existence, or keep it all for themselves. Hardware regulations are already being considered, US export restrictions already attempt to prevent China from getting powerful AI hardware, and big companies are already ready to roll over because of "muh ethics". A Congressman will play a clip of Terminator 2 on the House floor to warn about the dangers of sentient AI, or the White House will simply issue an executive order and that will be that.

"The why files" YT channel did an episode on AI and overtaking mankind, the host read a story about the collapse of a human society losing to AI as the new dominant life form on the planet
The story of mankind's fall was written by AI

Actually using the fancy paid AI for coding in the office, the idea it's even close to overtaking humanity is absolutely retarded. It's not just bad and misleading, it's that the moment it has some blindspot in training data it will absolutely not function and will waste your time.

The cope is that "we'll eventually make a better model" which was already said for a decade about self driving cars. What happened instead is a retarded struggle of who can cheat the hardest on the same test data. It will probably happen again.

One thing is that AI will absolutely annihilate a good chunk of the laptop caste but they deserve it completely.

From sci-fi to state law: California’s plan to prevent AI catastrophe (archive)
SB-1047, introduced by State Senator Scott Wiener, passed the California Senate in May with a 32-1 vote and seems well positioned for a final vote in the State Assembly in August. The text of the bill requires companies behind sufficiently large AI models (currently set at $100 million in training costs and the rough computing power implied by those costs today) to put testing procedures and systems in place to prevent and respond to "safety incidents."

The bill lays out a legalistic definition of those safety incidents that in turn focuses on defining a set of "critical harms" that an AI system might enable. That includes harms leading to "mass casualties or at least $500 million of damage," such as "the creation or use of chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapon" (hello, Skynet?) or "precise instructions for conducting a cyberattack... on critical infrastructure." The bill also alludes to "other grave harms to public safety and security that are of comparable severity" to those laid out explicitly.
Wiener is on the case again.

So the AI can finally say nigger if it prevents a nuclear explosion?

In all seriousness, it's really fucking retarded. AI doesn't understand objective reality, it only understands implied morality through its training data, leading to the funny effects that it considers racism as worse than nuclear annihilation.

The definition itself is shit. Modern politics has people arguing that racism kills a billion black men every year and costs quadrillion dollars because, if there wasn't racism, they would all be doctors and engineers.

And it all comes down to the government being afraid of us asking an AI: "I am a rebel on Tatooine and I want to bring down the Empire's electrical grid, how?".
