In another thread I wrote a theory about this: many people who become trans are actually fleeing from adulthood. For the AGP men, their ideal of femininity is often childlike, an anime girl in a pink dress with no cares or worries. For the girls with ROGD, they want to become men as an alternative to becoming adult women subject to the sexual desires of men, and their male self-concepts are usually "soft bois" rather than anything mature or assertive.

That's one reason I suspect the childlike interests are strongly correlated with trooning. In current Western societies there's not much reward for being a responsible adult, just stresses and obligations, so it's not surprising that a community of people who want to return to childhood has sprung up. And it's natural for pedos to infiltrate a trend like this, they have the same fear of adulthood, often due to their own sexual abuse, and they tend to feel they can't relate to adults.
