From the photos I have seen, yes. She appears usually in a wheelchair these days. This is one of the reasons David Challenor got bail, to look after her.

That is absolutely not what the fediverse is. "Fediverse" is a catch-all term for any and all web services that implement a federated means of communicating with each other, such as the protocol ActivityPub. There is no singular "owner" of the fediverse.

This misconception made me so MATI that I created a boomer friendly visual aid to hopefully break down the concept to newcomers in the simplest way possible.

That's needlessly convoluted though.

Katrina could have just purged all the mods, added Bubbles, added nekosune and the rest and then nuked the Katrina account. Same result, less work and there'd be a top mod placeholder for Katrina. So far I haven't seen anything that would prove that there's something nefarious going on with the Bubbles account.

Just to clear up how subreddit modlists work: They are indeed hierarchical with the top listed Full Access rated mod as the top mod who cannot be affected by any of the mods below them in the list. Same applies all the way down the list. A higher-listed mod can change things for lower-listed or themselves, but not for higher-listed.

Here's what isn't generally known: if you want to change janny order, you must remove every janny above the slot where you want a lower-down janny to reside and then re-add the jannies you just booted. The list is in invited order always, so if a top mod wanted to completely rearrange things, the easiest thing to do is boot everyone and then invite them back in the order they want them, starting with #2. There is no way to shift janny order without booting and re-inviting.

So if you see a sub go private for a while and then come back with the jannies rearranged or a whole new set of jannies, that's what happened behind the scenes. The top mod kicked all the lower ones, invited a new #2, and then kicked their account out of the list so #2 becomes #1. If your janny group is smallish, tight-knit, and active on reddit, you can generally arrange this in modmail in about 24 hours. If all the jannies are on Discord or are just your socks anyway, it can be done even faster than that.

So why take the sub private when you do this? So you can scrub modlogs and modmail that would show what you did. This info is recoverable and visible to admins anyway, but most people would just take the janny position and not snoop too much.
