Alex might be an alcoholic, but at least she's not a loser. Cause look at her sitting at a 5 star restaurant, drinking a $100 bottle of wine with a real diamond around her neck.

On one occasion Alex was so intoxicated that she fell out of her wheelchair and ended up in the ER with a hurt knee and a bruise on her forehead.

Alex admits that she's extremely toxic and can become super obsessive once she actually likes someone. At the end I think she says that if a guy can't handle that she's toxic then they can't be together.

Pre-established networks are important for this reason, so you don't fall into predatory traps. It never hurts to know exactly who you'd ask if a loved one was struggling with an addiction, rather than being at the mercy of a random 12 step.

In fairness, they're married in the biblical sense. People didn't have giant ridiculous weddings 3000 years ago; it probably looked more like moving in together.

If you mean Alex's old behavior, I would argue a Christian would say her devotion to Noah is apparent and the past belongs in the past.

More interestingly: God can steady his hand easily if Noah will let it happen with his alleged Adderall and kratom addiction. So I guess we don't need to worry about a relapse since Noah is telling the truth.

I suspect Noah is less of a True Believer and more of a garden-variety religious virtue-signaler for purposes of appearing to be “rehabbed” to whoever controls the purse strings. Rehab teaches you how to speak the Magic Words that will convince your enablers/parole officer/judge/case worker/boss that you are definitely for sure 100% committed to sobriety in your heart but also your actions are in Gods Hands.

To add to this, identity instability is a huuuge thing with BPD's.
