Back when MTV still played music videos, I saw a PSA that said something like "A human pregnancy is meant to last 40 weeks; don't deliver your baby early." I wondered, "WTELF?" and sure enough, there are indeed some crooked OBs who will deliver a baby early, usually by c-section, because a woman says she's tired of being pregnant! I'm not talking about women who experience complications, either, nor am I talking about women who have even nebulous indications for the procedure.

I used to work at a hospital that was investigated by the FACOG because there was an OB who would do this sort of thing. "Was" is right, because he's deceased now. By all accounts, he was an excellent gynecologist, but you wouldn't want him for your OB.

I think Alex is realizing that pregnancy is different than her goblin disease in that suffering is expected and without much sympathy from anyone. I’m sure she’s used to complaining about various symptoms to her tEaM and having at least someone snap to attention to solve it for her. Pregnancy doesn’t work like that.
