I believe this retard meant geometric progression (ex. 5 -> 15 -> 45 -> 135 and so on, where you get every next value by multiplying previous value by a specific number, in my case: 3) as opposed to arithmetic progression (ex. 5 -> 8 -> 11 -> 14 and so on, where you get every next value by adding specific number to the previous value, in my case: once again 3).
Of course I'm sure Alex didn't know it and just (incorrectly) used a term he heard somewhere because he thought it'll sound smart.
