Aliens Fireteam

The game has no text chat or VOIP (???? why the fuck not???)
The PC Master Race is not afraid of slurs, but the developers are.
Yeahhh but this one doesn't look like it's trying to rip off Doom. I've actually been quite enjoying it. I wish Technician got guns that had actual range though.
Nah, just a rip off of L4D.

Anyways, sounds like it's good not great?

The environment art and level design is leagues below Alien: Isolation. You know how in Isolation, the atmosphere is thick, everything seems placed with purpose and is unique? Well, in this one, it's hallway, after hallway, after hallway and even though the assets look nearly identical to Isolation, there's a very thin and chintzy feel to it. It just shows the difference in talent between Mass Assembly & Cold Iron Studios, even though their games took about the same amount of time to develop.

It's an Aliens game, not Alien. Ones a horror thriller whereas Aliens was about two hours of sci fi action.

That being said, the game is seriously about what I expected, just with some headscratching things left out. Being able to communicate with your squad members is one of them. I also think this game would have benefitted way more with an FPS option.

Does it do the clever thing Isolation did with it's retro 70s style for the in game wall posters and the like and retro tech like CRT monitors and computers? Except this time it would have to be 80s styled I guess.

That was so insanely clever in Isolation and one of the things that made you feel like you were not just playing an Alien video game but had actually stepped into the world of the movie.

Also, do they mostly come out at night?

An interesting video by Austin Wintory showing the process of creating the music for the game.

I agree, especially when they have that gimmick with one xeno hiding in the corner ready to jump on one of the players.
