When I am unemployed, I always tell myself I'll go to the gym, but an hour passes, then another hour, until it's like 10 pm and I just don't go. And this happens multiple days in a row until one day I realize I haven't been to the gym in like 3 months. It's like I'm always waiting around for the "perfect" time to go.

It's the lack of accountability. Structure and routine exist in normal jobs because you are forced to have some responsibilities. Part of the reason why people sit down and just watch TV when they get home isn't solely due to them being tired. It's also because they aren't being forced to do something out of necessity.

Part of the reason why Lupa is the way she is because she has no regular 9-5 job. Sitting around on your ass all day in the same room isn't good for your mental state. Getting up and getting out is fantastic thing for your mind. I've seen it happen with so many content creators over the years. PaulsEgo from the Drunken Peasants was one of the worst examples of this.

Can confirm. I don't mean flipping burgers, but there's something therapeutic about having a routine, and honing your skill. Especially if it improves someone's day in a small way.

I have low grade depression. I need to work to maintain my mental health. I know people who dropped out so they could collect unemployment, but I won't consider it.

Say whatever else you will about Lindsay Ellis, but at least when the time came to cancel her she had enough of a following that actually gave a shit about the content she was making. Hell, that well-established support base, and thus the huge amounts exposure she was getting, was what planted the seeds for people to try to knock her down a peg in the first place.
