No, you're not alone- just in a minority
I can appreciate all Chris' existence has done for the forums and I understand the appeal, but I can't bring myself to care too much because it actually kind of hurts lol. I'm not too empathetic in general, so it's weird even to me, but the sheer magnitude of how deeply Chris spiraled unsettles me more than it does entertain me. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion, but you're close enough to see all the mutilated body bits and hear all the screaming right next to you. You still can't look away, but the horror is so pronounced.
Same reason I can't really go beyond your average twitter sperg or youtuber in terms of cow investment in general. Seeing someone destroy their body with absolute confidence while essentially broadcasting it to the world makes the Salon untouchable, and beyond that you have exhausting political shitfits or sexual degeneracy which I'm also not a fan of.
Community Watch is more for me because i'm used to petty internet drama and it's most of it is usually over much smaller things than "I cut off my child's penis" or "I am a 400-pound dog raper". And even if it does relate to that kind of shit, the stupid arguing and the reactions to the arguing are enough of a veil to shield my pussy-tier brain from the actual act. It's not like Chris where you're getting uncut, uncensored audio of him doing it to his demented mom and nothing else.
I pay my respects to Chris and his ilk, but I cannot count myself among them. I prefer to just lurk amongst those who watch smaller hives of retards as well as lolcows they recognize and/or mostly come here to discuss things with the far-more-reasonable-than-is-standard-for-the-internet userbase that I'm interested in.
