Ever since Netflix hit gold with their first original series I knew it was inevitable Bethesda would string up Fallout's corpse for a piece of the pie. I dread whatever hackneyed bullshit they conjure up for it. It has to be a prequel since a series doesn't have the time to establish a whole new wasteland and factions, and every prequel possibility sucks. The magic of the world is how little remains to be known, focusing you on the characters that make up the various warring states left behind. I don't want to know anything more about the Gobi campaign, or the Canadian annexation, or the Mariposa exodus. It's cool because it's there, buried underneath countless parallel stories.

The Fallout series, particularly 1, 2 and New Vegas, are very thoughtfully constructed works that deserved better than the junk Bethesda molded it into, and it sure as hell deserves a lot better than whatever disposable pop-fluff Bethesda and Amazon have in store for it.

If they make a Blumpf stand in responsible for the Great War they'd be breaking their already shitty new canon they established in 4 that confirms the Chinese shot first. Fuck just extrapolating any further on the Sino-American conflict in and of itself is stupid, it's a backdrop that sets up the "war never changes" motif that the stories are hinged upon and nothing more.

Complaining about a Star Wars property having a Strong Female Character when the OT had those is myopic in the extreme, and TBH, I'm not going to bitch about a bunch of blacks in The Witcher because the adaptation was... well, about as good as I could have hoped for as a Netflix budget adaptation.
