Amazon Studios has licensed the rights to the worldwide best-selling game franchise Fallout, with acclaimed producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films attached to produce the project, currently in development with a series commitment.

"Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. Who says the Chinese are going to be at fault in the show? What if it all turns out to be the fault of Drumph?

I don't believe for a second that this'll work. The games have been going through a very steady decline for years. Everything about them has been getting lazier, and lazier. There's no way in this day and age that they aren't gonna weigh this down with uninspired, badly written woke bullshit.

With the state of the USA prewar would it surprise anyone if they threaded the story with an anti-fascist and anti-historical angle while expressing contemporary political factionialism by way of the canon's factions? I'd put down money they do.

Ever since Netflix hit gold with their first original series I knew it was inevitable Bethesda would string up Fallout's corpse for a piece of the pie. I dread whatever hackneyed bullshit they conjure up for it. It has to be a prequel since a series doesn't have the time to establish a whole new wasteland and factions, and every prequel possibility sucks. The magic of the world is how little remains to be known, focusing you on the characters that make up the various warring states left behind. I don't want to know anything more about the Gobi campaign, or the Canadian annexation, or the Mariposa exodus. It's cool because it's there, buried underneath countless parallel stories.

The Fallout series, particularly 1, 2 and New Vegas, are very thoughtfully constructed works that deserved better than the junk Bethesda molded it into, and it sure as hell deserves a lot better than whatever disposable pop-fluff Bethesda and Amazon have in store for it.

If they make a Blumpf stand in responsible for the Great War they'd be breaking their already shitty new canon they established in 4 that confirms the Chinese shot first. Fuck just extrapolating any further on the Sino-American conflict in and of itself is stupid, it's a backdrop that sets up the "war never changes" motif that the stories are hinged upon and nothing more.

You know 2020 has had events that happen in preWar Fallout, right? A new plague, rivalry with an ascendant China, riots....
But yeah, they will definitely be inserting wokeshit. I'm guessing they'll whine about poor peaceful protesters and retcon in a racism parable.

To everyone yelling about how this is going to be the wokest program in the history of television: you say this about every TV show at this point, with zero justification, and Sens8 exists.
More likely, given the nature of Amazon Prime material, it's going to be bland pap that barely leaves a groove in the viewer's long-term memory.

The boys: swapped characters around , changed races, Main bad guy was now a bad woman.
Mandalorian: Stronk female character because reasons.
Witcher: Females and secondary characters became people of color because historic poland is full of people of color
Westworld: Even bad white dude park saved by POC and female
Watchman: Even bad white dude, society saved by female POC against KKK
Chernobyl: They couldn't put POC as comrades so this was thankfully close to historical doctrine even though they combined all of the main guys support staff into one woman.

Turning a dang dirty evil MALE into a woman is the opposite of the shit you're talking about.
Complaining about a Star Wars property having a Strong Female Character when the OT had those is myopic in the extreme, and TBH, I'm not going to bitch about a bunch of blacks in The Witcher because the adaptation was... well, about as good as I could have hoped for as a Netflix budget adaptation.
It sounds to me that you just want to whine about the SJWs every time the wind blows, given that you brought up shows I didn't mention to try and disprove my point and haven't even seen half of the shows I mentioned.
